I’ve heard various people discuss which sunglass lenses they like and have recently purchased the Oakley Flak Jacket XLJ black iridium. I purchased this lens because it is versatile. Unfortunately, two of my last three triathlons have been overcast/raining. For these grey conditions, what color lens would be good for me to also have?
I like a yellow or yellow-orange lens for overcast days.
I have the same glasses, run the persimmon (orange) color lens and it makes everything light up and “pop”. Helps with overcast, rain, lower light, etc. and even do pretty well in snow.
I think, going from bright conditions to dark conditions they would be in this order:
Black / Grey | Brown / Bronze | Amber | Red / Rose / Vermillion | Orange | Yellow
Black being for bright light, yellow to increase contrast in poor light.

+1. End of thread.
If it is really overcast, I will go to a high intensity yellow, but that is pretty rare. Persimmon takes care of just about everything. A great all-around lens.
I use a clear lens for most lighting conditions with the exception of sunny days.
