Where is the best place to stay for the family, want it to feel like a vacation for them. Easy to get around and do things

Golden Arrow. Right in town, lake beach.

We’ve stayed with our three kids at Crowne Plaza, High Peaks resort and Hampton Inn. Hampton is my kids favourite. A little bit more of a walk to Main Street and no outdoor pool are downsides but close to water.

Would you consider Airbnb? With a family it almost always makes more sense than a hotel for us and we stayed in a great one (though not for IM weekend)

We stayed here and it was convenient, very clean and very spacious (lots of beds).

We stayed in a condo about 10 min outside of town. Right near the Whiteface Club & Resort. One place we rented was called Tom’s Cabin (you can google it). But there are other condos next to it. About 100 yds from Lake Placid. Small beach area to swim in the lake. Also a small private marina but you can rent paddleboards & kayaks and the marina has a restaurant.

Its been a long time, but White face lodge was really nice and the kids (when they were kids) loved it.

I am at the Golden Arrow now for Ironman Lake Placid. Excellent place for a family with a beach area and paddle boards, kayaks and pedal boat for adults and kids. Close to the race start and you can swim right from the hotel beach. Call today if you plan to book for next year!!
