As if life is like a football game… or a triathlon. Maybe we should raise the standard. Maybe if it was a Coast Guard rescuer or a fireman or a soldier or an at-risk teacher it might mean something. Perhaps he could be inspired to be one of those. Perhaps he could inspire his teammates to be one of those. Any athletic motivational speech that doesn’t start with, “This is the easiest thing you’re ever going to do in your life. So, enjoy it…” is just BS.

I just watched a young kid happy about a win in a football game spill out a bunch of cliché’s and I am supposed to be inspired.
