Best hot weather IM tri-suit

It sounds like the 2xu could be a bit unsuitable for a hot weather IM (see comments in shoot-out).

Many of the IM suitable suits are all black or darker colours.

What one piece would you recommend that is primarily white or a very light colour (above the waist at least) and is a suitable fabric for hot weather (for a 75 kg male)?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Even the “Super Elite Endurance”? With the white back & lighter blue front? The way I read Jordan’s piece first time round he rated it highly (shorter front zipper aside).

Or maybe you should ask those “Cycling Obsessions” dudes for one of theirs?

I race in Taiwan in summer where temperatures can reach 35 degrees celcious (HOT HOT HOT). So this is an issue I have reserached :-).

Desoto has a trisiut that is completely white on top and black below the waist. It also has a zip that zips down quite low.

Worked for me in the sweltering heat of Taiwan in Summer.

This is the comment I was referring to:

“…The Rollbar fabric is certainly very hydrodynamic, but it is also HOT. Riding this suit on the trainer, I had a very sweaty portion of myself right underneath where the Rollbar sat. Given the time of year, I wasn’t able to put it through paces in typical summer race conditions. And in fairness to the suit, I didn’t actually notice how much I was sweating in those spots until I took the suit off. But it definitely merits some more testing under more “real world” conditions. I really liked this suit, but it is clearly geared towards a non-wetsuit swim, which generally means warmer water, which generally comes from warmer air, which means a suit that is hot might be a problem…”

Anyone tried the 2xu suit in hot conditions and care to comment?

Yeah, I have the black super elite tri suit (black with grey). I see the new Endurance super elite but really dislike the colors.

I have the Desoto cool top jersey and that with a pair of shorts will do you fine if you are really concerned with the weather.

I raced all last summer(florida!) in the 2xu super elite(back zipper). It is perfect. Its hydrodynamic, it is aerodynamic and it doesnt restrict any movement becuase of the material. As far as heat goes, it wicks moisture away as good as anything and keeps you cool as long as you are moving. If you are slow as hell, dont get the suit  FWIW i am wearing the suit in Oceanside(half iron) regardless of whether its 50 or 80 out, its worth it.

Hi,

Perhaps I am missing the obvious, But why the “F”, would you want to do any distance beyond Olympic (in a “No Wetsuit Allowed format ONLY”) in a one piece suit?

Really curious, maybe I haved missed something.

Oh, BTW: I wear 2 piece
