Best driving route to CDa from Phoenix

I am looking for the fastest route to CDa from Phoenix Az. I am also interested in a more scenic route if it does not add a lot of time or 2 lane roads.

Thanks

I would think the fastest woud be I-15 north to Montana, then west on I-90.

Don’t know what you’re looking for in scenic, but this takes you through some beautiful areas.

Thanks. That is the route that we were looking at. I had talked to others that said they drove through Spokan. I assume they took 95 up. I didn’t get into detail as it was a year ago.

I’m from seattle and drive it a couple times a year. 10 to la then i5 up to vancouver bc. 1500 miles to seattle and about 2 hrs faster comming back. Let me know if you want more info. I’m doin the trip in 2 weeks for the seattle marathon

Driving from Phoenix to CDA via LA and Seattle makes little sense to me. It turns a 1350-mile drive into an 1830-mile drive. It takes you through major, often-congested areas (LA, Portland, Seattle). It forces you to endure the mind-numbing boredom of I-5 through California’s Central Valley. I just don’t get it.

I-17 north
US89 north
Utah 20 west
I-15 north
I-90 west

As for cutting over to 95 (via I-84) and taking it up through Spokane, that’ll add 2-3 hours onto the drive. It’s a pretty nice drive but not enough nicer than the fast I-15/I-90 option, IMHO.

My bad I thought it was closer to vancouver in which that is the fastest =best route. Those smaller rodes may seem quicker on paper but its 75 most of the way 10 to i5 so at 80 to 90 it saves some time. Not much to see but do a couple of trees and a mountain make 1500 miles any better?

The scenic route, not a whole lot longer but much better drive:
Get yourself to Las VegasOutside of Vegas pick up Hwy 93, Great Basin Hwy, just north of town. You can take this all the way up through NV, ID to Missoula, MT. From there pick up I-80 to CDAI drove up this route from LA last year to the race. This is the most direct but scenic route up there. Took the freeways back. Solo drive, legs completely shot. Recommend you do this scenic drive up, freeways back. IMO, rare that a race offers you the opportunity to get off the highways and see the rest of country. It’s worth the slight detour. The drive from Ketchum, ID to Missoula is fantastic.

I’m leaving on Sunday, riding my motorcycle up and hitting as much dirt as I can, camping as I go. Good times.
