Best disc wheel: Cervelo P5X, P3X, PX series?

I’m in the market for a new rear disc wheel for a P5X.

Any recommendations / data as to what would be the most aero - lenticular, flat, toroidal bulge, etc? (FWIW i run a single chainring (no FD) and no bottom storage box so rear wheel is not “hidden” much behind any frame etc.)

Must be tubeless, disc brake (obvs) and XDR compatible. Cost is not a concern, aero is everything

And go…

probably a flat disc by 1-2w
in the end I wouldn’t let flat or lenticular or whatever dictate my choice. I’d go by availability currently, when you need it and cost.

see the chart here for a small selection https://www.aero-coach.co.uk/store/AeroCoach-AEOX®-carbon-clincher-tubeless-road-disc-wheel-p200772042
suggests AEOX at low yaw, roval at high yaw (noting that this is potentially subject to bias but aero coach seem as trustworthy as anyone selling stuff)
AEOX is also reasonably priced and available.
roval is expensive but light

I would only buy a disc that is at least 27 mm wide like the roval, I went even wider and got the bed vanquish.
But the 25 mm stuff is old news

^^^^^This.

Flat discs tend to do slightly better tucked behind seat tubes, while lenticular discs are slightly better on open frames (ex. diamond). Again we’re talking 1-2W.

Thanks, seen that advice before re flat discs in a frame with an optimal seat tube that hides the rear wheel.

So in the case of a P5X with no seat tube at all a flat disc might be slightly worse than lenticular… I appreciate we only talking 1-2w here…

HED Vanquish Disc is definitely high on my list, as I have the V8 wheelset on the bike (and they are superb). Availability is just a bit of an issue at the moment :frowning:

What’s your impression of the V Disc?

HED Vanquish Disc is definitely high on my list,

I had a nice chat with Hed recently. Apparently the carbon they use for the Vanquish disc is supposed to come in at the end of the month. Fingers crossed as I’m waiting on my vanquish disc

Thanks Brian - good to know!

im waiting on vanquish 8 rear for daily rides and for cozumel… had my order in for months now.

no complaints though, i love that they got some carbon in and it wasnt up to their spec so they said “nope”. quality matters to them.
