Best cycling shorts for tall skinny guys

I second the Sugoi RS bib. It’s pretty slim. I’m 29 waist and 33 inseam and the small is snug. hem hits just above the knee. Has a little of the corset feeling too IIRC.

You could go the higher end route Assos, Giordana, Rapha, etc. and I’ll admit there’s some comfort improvement, but fit may not necessarily be much better. Giordana’s forma lines actually fit me worse (my torso is apparently long?).

** Personally, I think Assos fits like shit. Assos is cut for the guys that can afford it. They claim it is traditional european sizing, but I think it’s fits like a bag. Maybe it used to fit well, but now it’s cut to fit the typical physiology of an Assos buyer - a desk jokey with lots of money.**

The PearlIzumi PRO line is easily the competitor of any of the “high end” stuff. It’s as high end as Assos & Rapha, and higher end than Castelli (even Rosso Corse line) and definitely nicer than Giordana (even their premium). It’s also the first clothing that I’ve seen in a long time that really fits the way it says in tops and bottoms – form fit // race cut. I never thought their old stuff was that nice, but I think the Garmin team partnership forced them to up their game. They also got bought by Shimano, which meant big $$ influx, which also helps.

I have 4 Assos bibs, 6 Pearl Izumis bibs/shorts and bunch of others. I like the Pearl Izumi lycra material maybe even better than Assos, however the snug is better on Assos and the Chamois on Assos is 100% better than Pearl Izumi. Also running in Assos bibs after a ride is not a problem. U use Pearl Izumi for short bike rides or trainer rides. Assos for longer rides and bricks.

Its not about the hype or the money as the higher end PI cost is comparable with ASSOS.
