Best Caribbean Island(s) for Cycling?

If any…

Any thoughts here? Would like hills too… Ideally also traffic will be oriented in a right side of the road manner… But, if that’s not possible, will also consider other options…

Thanks. Chris

In my somewhat limited experience viewing islands for this purpose, St. Croix is very rideable (and has an amazing pool!) and used to host a 70.3.

I think most drive on the left, but I’m not sure

Definitely not BVI. Wonderful place but not for bikes.

Possibly Grenada.

Aruba has a decent length bike path. The island also feels the safest (by far) compare to most Islands.

Cap Cana (Dominican republic) was very nice to ride a few years ago - Rev3 used to have a race there.

As someone who spent two years in Grenada, I would say the cycling options are not great.

They host a sprint every year with a beach swim and closed loop bike course. There are 5-10 local cyclists that use the main stretch in town early in the mornings when there is little to no traffic. There are a few residential places where you can do a 3-5k loop. The hills and humidity make exercise very challenging there.

Otherwise the traffic and road conditions aren’t great. There are a few places to mountain bike if that is of interest. Great place to vacation!

I’ve seen some folks bring bikes on vacay to St Kitts and St Maarten and seemingly have a good time.

Yeah. I did that race many years ago. That said, it would be a beautiful and great place to train. But, I don’t remember it being that friendly to cycling. And, remember hearing that during other times of year (other than race weekend) - not good.
