My bike need a serious overhaul in terms of getting sand, mud and other itty bitty pieces of desert and roadgrime of it. Where would the best place be to bring it for such a mundane task?
I remember last year, a lot of people were raving about the service at Landis Cyclery - not sure where it is in the Phoenix area.
There are several Landis shops, the one I use is on Warner and Rural. But, close to IMAZ, you can go to Dominec’s on 10th and Mill, good bike shop and carry plenty of higher end stuff. I imagine Inside-Out will have there tent up in a few days at the race site.
Landis is one of the sponsors for IMAZ and will have their tent on site doing repairs. You can travel 5 miles in just about any direction from the IM site and hit a Landis shop.
I usually get everything at TriSports.com but alas they’re in Tucson. When I was in Tempe a few weeks ago, though, I stopped at TripleSports to get some gels, etc. The folks there were great and it’s ~7 miles from the transition area.
I’ve heard the Laveen High Performance Center staff will do it for a case of beer. Expensive beer, really really expensive beer.
Is the High Performance Director for the Laveen High Performance Center in town this week?
isn’t that who worked on Mrs. Desert Dude’s bike when the seat almost fell off? Don’t know that the labor cost is worth it.
Yes, Studying and test taking. Hopefully done all that business by wednesday night. So far about 1000 pages of material read and 5-600 to go. I did miss 3 out of the 240 questions on the tests. Ring me, saw Sergio this morning.
You better show your face at the Gatorade swim Thursday morning!
The fastest place would be the expo, alll the bike shops are overwhelmed at this time and ive had great luck with the shop at the expo in the past, plus youll probably get it back the same day.
Thats the plan. I’m working registration that and friday morning. I have a 8:30 conference call both days.
I thought you were staying at Dan’s at the moment - I’m sure for a case of beer he could instruct you in the task:)
.
I would highly recommend Tribe Multisport, at 1800 N. Scottsdale Rd. Great shop, ask for Kevin. He’s the owner, and a top notch mechanic/bike fitter.
It’s about 3 miles north of the race site. Rural Rd. turns into Scottsdale Rd., just North of the 202. The shop is on the west side of the street, tucked away in a strip mall.
Tell him that Randy from Runners Den sent you, maybe it will help with pricing!!!
Yeah, Tribe and Domenics are the closest. Tribe is a lot of fun though if that’s your thing. You’ll never meet someone exactly like Kevin in your life, good inspiration before IMAZ.
