Best Aero Sensor to Buy?

So which is best for a beginner trying to learn

The Gizmo VS Notio VS Aero Sensor?

I am not really qualified to answer which is best. My only real qualification is that I own a Notio and an AeroSensor. The Gizmo is still in development, but I have some confidence that it will work well because Marc is probably one of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in the field. The Notio is OK and software mostly works, but I never really had great luck with the app results and I tended to end up downloading everything to Golden Cheetah and doing my own analysis.

I didn’t get my Aerosensor until it got cold and windy, so my experience is limited. On my road bike I knocked out a bunch of AABB testing runs that were very consistent. The TT bike has been harder and I think the difference is the low quality of the mount I built and the amount of gusting wind when I tested. I would say the hardware is where it needs to be. The software and analysis still would probably be a bit tricky for someone without some degree of familiarity with technical stuff. This may change in a week or two because they have announced a partnership with AeroTune. If you ask me, the holy grail of aero testing is an accurate/precise device and a software solution that makes the data summaization possible for people without some level of familiarity with experimentation.

First of all, thank you for the kind words

I still think the Notio could work for some people. I do not know what the level of investment/support may be moving forward. This is something I would “test” before ordering one. Do they answer support requests ? The hardware is ok, I still think they have work to do on the SW side.

You are bang on with the easy to use SW side with accuracy. Also i. We plan to do something quite different with the Gizmo and it’s little brother.

I could comment on several of the above posts, but if there is anything specific I can help with just ask. I am back from Girona and have more time on my hands. I tested 15 riders in prep for a world tour season. Yago joined us for a few. It was fun.
