Bend Training Camp with Coaches Chris Bagg and David Tilbury-Davis

Boost Your Summer Racing Fitness at Our 5-day All Inclusive Training Camp May 29-June 2

What if you could train like a professional for five days: no work, no distractions, just swim-bike-run-eat-rest-repeat (eat would show up more often but you get the point).

That’s what you’ll get at 2026 Bend Camp, which we’ve been running, tweaking, and improving since our first camp back in 2013. This year I (Chris) am incredibly excited that David Tilbury-Davis, coach to MANY of the household names in triathlon, will join us as co-coach, leading workouts, giving Q&A sessions, and will be around for you to ask questions throughout the run of camp.

When I was still racing, training camps were always my favorite two to three weeks of the year: no other commitments except swimming, cycling, running, resting, and eating all day long. It was the only time in my career that I truly felt like a professional athlete, and it’s in that spirit that I’ve shaped our Bend Triathlon Training Camp over the twelve years Campfire has been running it.

You will be tired at the end of Bend Camp. Heck, you’ll be tired before the end of Bend Camp, but that’s the point. You cannot get faster without accumulating fatigue, but fatigue is also a double-edged sword: too much fatigue and you’ll end up sick, injured, or burnt out.

Why? Well, when you train as part of your normal existence, several other aspects of your life compete for your attention: work, family, friends, relationships, other hobbies…they all create stress, and all stress goes into the same bucket. And if that bucket overflows…well, that’s called an adult meltdown right there, and we’ve all probably experienced something like that. Worse? When your body is stressed, it doesn’t absorb your training as effectively, so that one hour run might not be “worth” one hour of training stimulus, depending on your recovery.

Camps adjust for that fatigue. By subtracting the other stressors in your life you get an incredibly strong signal for your body to adapt to the new load placed upon it, and we can prescribe more training to you than you are used to. And since you’re not as stressed, that higher load makes you faster, not burnt out.

So camp is challenging, but camp is also fun, supportive, and beautiful. So why not join us for five days of truly focusing on your 2026 training? You might find yourself fitter, faster, and happier than you’ve ever been.

We have been running several camps a year for over twelve years, now, and we know we put on a good one. This camp is modeled on the ones I did in Tucson in the early days of my professional career, and again, it’s challenging but we also can adjust ride and workout distances for everyone. There are always bailouts, and we’ll always have several vehicles on the road when we’re riding or out on our long run. So if you want to learn more, then head over here, or just reply to this post and hit me up.

Single–occupancy rooms are $2295, and Double-occupacy are $1795.

Sounds like a solid setup, especially with Tilbury Davis involved and the all inclusive format that lets you actually absorb the work. Bend is a great spot for a camp too. Are the sessions split into ability groups do you offer any flexibility for folks who can’t handle long rides back to back?

Hey David! Yes, totally. We adjust all workouts to your ability level—we’ve got multiple vehicles and multiple loops for all the big rides, and we sag the whole long run. Swim is split into groups, obviously. Accessibility is really important to me, so we overemphasize that feature. We’d love to have you!
