Bell Javelin fit

Just got a Bell Javelin aero helmet as per other recommendations here. I am extremely disappointed at how it fits. The ear straps are sewed instead of being adjustable. This causes the chin strap to strap on my Adam’s apple instead of on my jaw bone as it should, which is uncomfortable and probably even outright dangerous. And yes, I got the right size for me (medium).
All the other helmets I own (many Giro, Rudy Project) have completely adjustable ear straps, including the low-end $40 ones. It baffles me why this does not. I always stayed away from Bell helmets, but I trusted recommendations here on this one. I guess it is going to be a return.

Mine fits like that if i’m looking slightly down. Does it still sit there if you’re in the aero position?

A little bit better, but still much worse than, say the Giro Advantage which I also own.

I see. I’m not super happy w/ it either, but don’t notice when I race. Out of curiosity, why’d you get the Javelin if you already owned the Giro?

For the wife… Found a Bell Javelin on sale and since it was also recommended, decided to give it a try. We have the same size. Also, it has a visor, and was curious to try that out.
