Bed Time Stretching

Title says it all. I am looking for a good stretch routine to do before I head to bed. I currently do just a couple of basic stretches. I really want to work on my flexibility and getting my muscles more elastic than what they are now. Plus, if I am not mistaken this will help recovery and muscle soreness other times throughout the week after workouts. TIA

I am probably the least flexible person I know for a variety of reasons. Frankly, do stretching for the relaxation aspect at night, but honestly I have found I get more flexibility from strength / mobility work than I do from stretching. With that being said my night end routine is a nice good rolling session with foam rollers, balls, peanuts etc, then into the boots with a Seinfeld episode and I am out cold.

I found the best stretching to be mid run when nice and warm.
That and mid weight full range of motion weights.

I have had very good success lately with dynamic stretches. Leg swings and various hip openers. I don’t think many recommend static stretches any more.

I didn’t think anybody did either. I do a few dynamic stretches as well but was wondering if there were some others that people have found to work for them or just enjoy doing because it relaxes them.

I might just have to start being a little more intentional on leg days getting in some good dynamic stretches at the end of a workout.

Most stretching I do and ever did was opposed stretches.

Foam rolling and doing some exercises to help with muscle imbalances would be a better use of your time. If you really want to stretch, do it after a workout when your muscles are warm.

I like to stretch my muscle at bedtime, but I think I’ve gone a bit off topic.

I don’t disagree, but yeah, I think that is a little off the topic.
