From what I know with the suite of Cervelos and Cannondales I have owned, is that a BBright crank will go into BB30 bottom bracket with an extra 11mm spacer on the non drive side. And SOME BB30 cranks will go into BBRight bottom bracket if the drive side crank does not flare out from the BB30 by 11mm in the horizontal plane of viewing in between the spindle and the pedal threading (not sure if I am explaining this well). All of this without changing stance width which is identical for both systems…in effect the BBRight system just has extra frame width rather than the narrower frame width on BB30 (into which the bottom bracket is placed)
So can anyone recommend me any BB30 cranks that will fit in the BBright. I recently got a new to me P3 (2018 model Rim brake) and it came with 165’s and all my bikes have 170’s and prefer they all stay the same. If any are available with built in powermeter that would be great. My old Quarq Elsa powermeter worked with both, but it got destroyed in a mishap.
I have a Quarq Dzero that’s the pf/bb30 version that works with my p5-6. From what I recall(it’s been many years since I bought this set up) the instructions say to remove the spanner on the nondrive side and it then becomes compatible with the BBRight
Thanks, that is how my Quarq Elsa fit in both my cannondale Slice and Old Cervelo P3. That’s what I am essentially looking for unless of course I can get a BBright 170mm crankset that is 110 bcd
You are correct. I need the BB30 version that has a 79mm spindle and not use the non drive side spacer (at least that is how my old quarq worked in both BB30 and BBRight). Is that BB30a?
I believe you are correct on the 11.5mm spacer on the drive side. Some Rotor cranks came with the 11.5mm spacer built into the lock ring so no additional spacers are needed. I’ve had a few Cervelo’s with Rotor 3D+ cranks and have had both types of lock rings.
