BB30 Crank Help

The lady has purchased a used tri bike for her trainer that unfortunately has 170mm cranks on it setup in a BB30 bottom bracket. Can anyone recommend some decent 155mm cranks that will work with this setup? I’m trying to duplicate her tri fit and the 170mm cranks are not going to cut it.

Cheers.

You can use any BB30, GXP, MegaEXO, Campy, or Hollowtech II (Shimano) crankset on that bike. 155mm is pretty unusual, though-- not many brands make them that short. What does she have on her other bike? If it is one of the standards above, I would just get another one and the appropriate adapter.

She has a Cobb 155 crank in her race bike. Thanks for the reply.

Cobb cranks use the SRAM GXP BB standard. So you could just buy insert adapters to press into your BB30 bearings currently in the bike, then install the crank.

But I highly recommend this: https://www.worldwidecyclery.com/products/wheels-manufacturing-bb30-to-sram-bottom-bracket-with-angular-contact-bearings-black-cups?nosto=productpage-nosto-3

Remove the stock BB30 bearings and clips, press in 1 side of this bottom bracket, then thread in the other. Zero creaks and super smooth and reliable bearings.

Cobb is GXP, Frame is BB30. If shes happy with the Cobb the easiest option would be to get another Cobb and then install a BB30 to GXP bottom bracket into the frame.

Here are some options for that: https://wheelsmfg.com/bottom-brackets.html?bb_standard=6858&crank_spindle_dia=7120

Same crank will fit but you’ll need either:

.

Cheers for all of the replies. You lot are great!

Another option is Rotor 3D+ cranks. They’re compatible with:
BSA, ITA, BB86, BB30, BB30A, PF30, BBRight, & BB386 Evo.
They’re a little more expensive than some but not absurd.
I just put a set on my Felt IA (BB30) and I’m perfectly happy with them.

Looking to get a bb30 sram crank and currently run dur ace gxp.

Is there a adapter from gxp threaded to a bb30?

If your bike has a threaded BSA (English Threaded) bottom bracket, then you cannot use a BB30 crank. A GXP or similar 24mm crank are your only options. My road bike is BSA, so I had to put a SRAM GXP Crank on it. I run a SRAM BB30 Crank on my BB30 bottom bracket tri bike.

Dura-Ace cranks don’t have a GXP axle.

Hi

Yes you can put a 30 mm crank on a English bottom bracket.
I have been using one for 2 years on a fixed gear.
Quarq powermeter 30 mm long shaft

Your Welcome

Rotor 3D+ do BB30 and 155 I have one in each 5mm length I have trialed. They are a sweet crankset.

Will not work with standard BB30 cranksets.

That Wheels Manufacturing BSA-30mm bottom bracket will not get a SRAM BB30 crankset to work on a threaded BSA frame. It is intended for cranksets like FSA’s BB386EVO standard. (I had one of those on my BSA road bike before moving to the SRAM GXP crankset.)

Looking to get a bb30 sram crank and currently run dur ace gxp.

Is there a adapter from gxp threaded to a bb30?

Which SRAM crank?

All of their cranks with non-removable spiders (basically just the RED series cranks) will not fit a threaded bottom bracket because the spindle isn’t wide enough. All of their cranks with removable spiders are wide enough to fit. A “BSA 30” bottom bracket going into your bottom bracket shell should you allow you use any SRAM crank with a removable spider or any crank listed as “BB386” “BB30” or “PF30”

PM me with more questions. You’re already getting bad advice on this thread. I also have no idea what you mean by ‘dur ace gxp’ but I think that doesn’t matter as long as you know 1) that your frame has a threaded bb shell and 2) what SRAM crank you want to use.
