Hi,
I’m wondering if someone of you know for sure if these 2 bike (Tarmac SL2 and Tarmac SL4) have the same bottom bracket (BB30)? I,m looking to buy a Quarq on my SL2 and plan to transfer it on a SL4 frame next year.
Thx,
Fred

Yes if you have the specialized OSBB in both bikes it has not changed.
Some Tarmac SL2s came with threaded BB (Expert and Pro one year)
The spacing is slightly different for the specialized crank vs standard BB30 crank so you need either a new BB or some spacers to get the Quark to work.
Or you could buy the specialized quark spider and then it’s easy to transfer from bike to bike.
no, they do not have the same bottom bracket.
the sl2 is bb30 while the sl4 is pf30. specialized’s implementation of both of these results in the same width of the bearings when used with the appropriate parts. thus, they can both accept the same cranks without an adapter (e.g., specialized s-works road cranks to name one model), or some models with an adapter (e.g., shimano dura ace), but the bottom brackets are technically not the same.
If I bought the " QUARQ RIKEN 10R-130 BB30 175 53-39", could I install it on my current Tarmac SL2 Comp 2011 (Shimano 105 black)? Do I have to buy a specific BB or the BB already in place will work?
Do you think it will be possible to transfer it to a SL4 next year?

is that a sram crankset (presumably)? yes, a sram-based quarq will work on an SL2 frame. you will not need new bearings, but you may need to purchase the sram bb30 bottom bracket in order to obtain the proper spacers. you will not use most of the included parts.
sram cranksets do not include any bearings or spacers; they are in the bottom bracket kit. unfortunately, that means you need to buy a kit that has many things you will not need.
it has been a while, but i recall you need a 10mm spacer, a wave washer and potentially a few other small items.
