Bad thing at today's tri (SJIT)

Someone ignored the officers on traffic control at Almaden and Redmond and took out one of the riders. Don’t know how badly the rider was hurt, but the bike was trashed and EMTs were arriving at the same time I did…

Note to the jerkoff who zipped around me and almost got himself flattened by the ambulance: The cops told us to hold up, so how about a little consideration for the victim, and the EMTs trying to get to the victim?

Otherwise a great race, but I sure hope the injuries aren’t serious. We go there for a fun day, and it really sucks to see a fellow triathlete being attended to by paramedics.

I had to nearly stop on a downhill for an ambulance at the Alcatraz race. It sure surprised me, but I prefer my surprise to the one the guys who crashed got.

One needs to keep priorities straight, even on race day.

I hear you, I was the USAT Marshall on scene . see my post on crashes and racer conduct

“One needs to keep priorities straight, even on race day.”

You said a mouthful there. The race just isn’t that important when someone is injured. I spent the entire run trying to find the faces of all my athletes and friends. I think my concentration on the event dropped significantly.

BFD, like I was going to win. A couple of minutes off the run might have moved me all the way up into seventh in my AG.
