Back of knee pain...anyone know anything

Hi,
I am on my way to the PT for this but can’t get in for a few days…I have a history of chronic hamstring tendonitis that has seemed to move down my leg (go figure) and have little hamstring pain now (just one spot). Now I have back of knee pain and keep reading about this…sounds alot like a different version of my hamstring issue only at the knee. Hurts like hell to bend my knee. I am icing, stretching and taking time off from running. No swelling of knee though…

Any ideas?

Thanks!

It could be a popliteus strain. With the hamstring issues, it might be related to a saddle that is too high. Back of knee pain ‘typically’ indicates a saddle might be too high.

Pain on the back of the knee is the classic indicator of too high a saddle. Given all your issues though it sounds like you are going to need to dial back until you get these issues under control.

Too high and/or too far back.
