From Emilio on BT post
"There was a recent question to me asking about wetsuit shampoo, so I thought this would be a good submit to offer my advice.
I grew up surfing in California and have been wearing wetsuits since 1970 and no matter how much you rinse a wetsuit, it will always smell like the ocean. Over time, you may actually appreciate their odor about as much as a horse owner appreciates the smell of a stable!
To keep your wetsuit smelling nice, there is no need to waste your money on expensive wetsuit shampoo! Use hair shampoo instead!
Fill a tub with 4 inches of water. Put 1/2 cup of your favorite Shampoo into the water and stir it around. Place the wetsuit in the tub and submerse it in the water. Let it sit for about 30 minutes, then rinse. The more frequently you do this the more it will smell like the shampoo. Shampoo is gentle enough not to ruin the suit, yet strong enough to leave a nice scent."
sweet i am going to try that today.
Shampoo is fine (just don’t use a 2-in-1 with conditioner). You may occasionally want to wash it with an enzyme product that kills off the other bacteria and gunk ( http://www.become.com/mirazyme?&qet )…especially if your suit doubles as a urinal from time to time.
