Attaching My Yaks to My Vibrums

What is the best way to attach Yaks to Vibrums? I just got a pair and was ready to go out for a long run this week when 6"of snow and ice were dumped on atlanta

its pronouced vee-brums.

thanks for the grammar correction but that doesnt really get me any closer to attaching them now does it?

You can’t be serious - but since I’m vegging watching the BC game, I’ll feed the troll. I assume you want that “natural gait” as well when you are running in 6 inches of ice/snow that you aren’t used to.

I’d highly rec the sheet metal screw method in your Vibrams then … that should feel nice.

You might have better luck with actual shoes.

havent you read born to run? shoes are bad for you.

Exactly! Under no circumstances are shoes better, or even equal to, barefoot!

I agree. The sheet metal screws augmented with zip ties, good and tight, are an effective attachment method. This way, as noted in Once a Runner, you’ll never have to leave a calendar day white. Now, back to Oregon -Auburn.

You don’t need any traction devices in 2-6" of snow. More than that and you might want some floatation from a small running snowshoe.

It’s the 1/4" of ice left over from a thaw/freeze cycle that you need traction for.

Clearly you’ve not seen the video, its Vuh-Brams…
