Assioma cleats with Look Keo?

My wife and I have Assioma pedals on our outdoor bikes and a Power2max on our stationary bike(with shimano pedals). We would like to have the same cleats on all of our bikeshoes to be compatible with all bikes. Saw that @gplama tested different cleats on the assioma pedals and therefore suspect that our assioma cleat might work on Look Keo pedals, anyone who knows if it works? (Otherwise i can of course change all if our cleats to the Keo ones)

They are compatible. I use my TT bike on the trainer with some cheapy Look pedals and put my Assiomas on my road bike to ride outside. No issues so far doing that.

ETA: They are a little looser on the Look pedals then the assiomas but that could be because the Look pedals are pretty old so the springs may be a little worn.

Sounds good, thanks alot🙂

Need to be a bit careful when mixing and matching keo cleats and pedals.

Exustar, vp and xpedo, among others, all make keo compatible cleats. They are not identical though and all fit a little differently.

Found this out the hard way when I changed some worn look keo cleats for new vp. My regular training route involved crossing a double set of train tracks. Always used this as an opportunity to test out my bunny hopping skills and timing.

Sure enough, both shoes came out of the pedals on first hop and I came down square on the top tube. Made the save and didn’t crash. Never expected that a new set of vp cleats would be looser than a worn set of looks. Had to ramp up the tension on the pedals by 50% or so to get the same level of retention, and was always very reluctant to do any hopping after that.

On the plus side, the vps were far more durable.

I’ve read that powertap use xpedo cleats, don’t know where favero source theirs.

Tl;dr test cleat and pedal fit and make adjustments before any sprinting or acrobatics.

Will only use the odd combo on the stationary bike so if I fall off it will be att zero speed🙂

No worries then! Haven’t heard of any reports of mismatching cleats affecting power readings, just the occasional annoying squeak.

I switch my Assioma’s between my TT bike and road bike. I have set of Look Keo pedals, so that I don’t have to change pedals every time that I change bikes. I have had no problems using Assioma cleats on the Look Keo pedals.

Sample of 1 - I’ve found the Look cleats to feel closer to the same across pedals (Assimos, Look Classic, and Look Blade) than the Assimos. I’ve got the Assimos cleats around as spares, but buy the Looks when getting replacements. They’re all pretty close, but may be worth doing some comparisons yourself to see which to buy as replacements in the future.
