Asics Hyperspeed 2

Has anyone who switched from the original Hyperspeed to the 2nd version noticed a change in fit? The forefoot seems much narrower in the same size shoe and am wondering if I should go up a 1/2 size.

Mark

Not with the Hyperspeed, but I did notice the change to the 2120’s. I had to got up a 1/2 size as well, as I started getting blisters in wierd places. No more blisters with going up the size

Yes, I did. It also feels a little shorter. However, I don’t know if a half size bigger is the solution for you. You might have to look for a different shoe. Also, still many HS 1s around, maybe you can find one.
FWIW, I prefer the 2 as it is a bit more cushioned (I use them for marathons and am 6’1/165)

cheers

The HS 1’s might lack a little of the cushion in the forefoot of the HS2’s, but I like the sole material and hardiness of the HS1’s better. I haven’t been able to find any of the HS1’s in my size 9.5 in a while.

In my never-ending search for neutral light-weight trainers, I have toyed with trying a pair of Asics HS2. Do these have cutouts in the sole to breathe through the insert? I suspected as much from the pictures I could find online (none of the local shops carry anything so exotic). As it is winter in upstate NY where I live, I am less than excited about shoes that don’t gave a completely sealed sole (like my Adistars). Mesh uppers aren’t a problem…
Thanks,
Dan

Yes they have cut-outs that to the best of my determination are most useful for collecting small rocks.

I wear the same size in both.

As someone else pointed out… the soles of the HS2 have the little holes that like to collect rocks, and they are also not sealed… your socks will get wet on wet pavement.
Other than that… I love them… they feel faster than the HS1. I like the lower heel counter too.
