Asian Fit Oakley Radars...how much different is the fit?

Big difference between the Asian and regular fit???

Haven’t used em so don’t have personal experience, but Oakley’s site here if you haven’t sen it:

.

I use them, they are actually the same as regular radars, just with a slightly bigger rubber nose piece, to lift the lens a little further away and clear your cheek bones. In fact, all radars ships with two different nose pieces, one bigger (asian fit), so you can make any of them “Asian” fit. If there is a oakley retailer near you, you can try it on for your self.

I’ve tried both…and I can’t seem to tell the difference. They look the same to me. The Radars always had a good fit for me.

Typically the “Asian fit” in the sports glasses come with a larger nose piece. The Asian Fit Jawbones come with the larger nose piece already installed vs coming as separate pieces on the standard versions.

I have a pair of Asian Fit Gascans…and those physically have a slightly different shape than the standard ones. I also got a pair of AF Pit Bulls…those have the same frame…but larger nose piece.

Lol…I’m just rambling now…

no real difference
.

Does the same lenses fit both the regular AND the Asian please?

Most of the “asian fit” oakley models that have a nose piece or nose bombs just have larger ones in the “asian fit” ones. For the more unibody plastic glasses, like the Fives or the Gascan, the “asian fit” models actually have a different curvature of the whole frame/lenses.

The only difference is in the rubber nose piece, which is interchangeable. I am an asian male who has yes- an asian nose…with somewhat a more western defined nose bridge. I actually find the regular radar fit to be perfect. I’d say the asian fit nosepiece would only work if you’re nose bridge is really undefined.

That being said, I’ve had to switch to asian fit nose pieces for my jawbones…so in the end, your best bet is just to go try them on.

I don’t know about the Asian fit, but my wife is petite Vietnamese and she loves the women’s Radars. They fit her well. We have a local Oakley store which carries about everything, so we were able to try things on. Of course, we then bought through our favorite Oakley dealer…

I think it depends if you are Asian or not…
My wife is Chinese - she cannot wear regular Oakleys as the lens rest on her cheek bones - the Asian fit works for her
I am not Asian and I do not notice any appreciable difference between the two

I could be wrong but I think the difference, aside from the nose piece, is in the lens, not the frame. It’s slightly narrower and the frame adjusts to the lens when it snaps into it.

Don’t know if there’s a big difference, but those saying it’s just the nose piece are incorrect. The frame is slightly wider and either the frame/lens are shaped so that there’s less angling inwards from top to bottom. That being said, I’m Asian and the regular radarlocks fit just fine. I’m sure bigger nose pieces would help a little, but it hasn’t been bothersome enough for me to go out and get them. Also, I don’t have as a round “moon” face as most Asians, so ymmv.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on Radars - 1 color option - but Oakley does NOT discount very often! MSRP $160, SALE $111. Check back once per month. I scored a polarized pair not to long ago for $170 down from $240.

And yes, with Oakley - the Asian fit with the Radar is simply a nose piece ‘exchange.’
