Armstrong TT bike observations (not a spoiler)

Disco hour at the tour, C’mon … looks like some type of pimp gold chain on the disc

Seen the front wheel, no news there, cool looking

Why is he not using the DA 10 speed TT chainring that they now have, he is using a 9 sp?

I like the new TT bar, but the stem? Looks like it protrudes from the front

looks like a Zipp 900 dimple disc, maybe, but does the big ‘gold chain’ decal cover the dimples?

His chain is cleaner than mine. He must have help.

That bike will win the Prologue. 'Nuff said.

those bars look like the ones he used last year- or at least similar, but not like the ones he used at the Dauphine as seen below- guess he didnt like them that much?!

for such a studly guy, mr. lance goes a little heavy on the steering tube spacers…

MAYBE those got trashed in his wreck this week…If I recall, he was on his TT bike…just a possibility.

I actually give him very little chance and would even say he’d rather be in second, 3 seconds down than win the opening TT.

My pre-race was FAbian or Brad, we’ll see.

That disc is wierd.

Glad to see he’s finally using the Hed 3deep. Maybe now it will make it into production.

That is not the exact bike he is riding today

His bike today has his name across the top tube near the seat post in silver script.

The rear disc features a collage (sp??) with many smal symbols which mean a lot to him - eg his son’s name - a symbol for beating cancer - and then the symbol number 7.

Guess it means something to him.

I like the new bar/stem combo and yes - he does appear to have a bunch of spacers in there but he does not have the flattest position.

He looked extremely low on the trainer warming up though!!

Bravo.

What does the 10//2 mean on the rear seatstay?

I like it better than that cooky red spiral thing they had going on before…at least when he’s movin’.

He was diagnosed with cancer on October 2
.

What does the 10//2 mean on the rear seatstay?
it’s his new line for nike. 10/2 was the date he was diagnosed with cancer.

What does the 10//2 mean on the rear seatstay?
10x2 gears?

Cancer diagnosis date - Oct 2d

That HED3 is not a normal HED3. Its MUCH deeper!

He was diagnosed with cancer on October 2

In Europe October 2 would be 2/10 and not 10/2.

The 10//2 apparel is done through Nike which is an American compnay where they list the month before the day. Check out his quote about 10/2 being the day that he learned not to take anything for granted.

He used the new/Dauphiné bar/stem combo today…so ya, must’ve broken it during the crash or didn’t want to use it on the show bike (?)

One other note…the Hed3deep that he used and Hincapie at least, used today was all carbon.
