What do you guys think about Lance only wearing Livestrong gear? I understand perhaps part of the reason he is making his comeback is to continue raising awareness and money for his foundation. However, he is part of a team now, it kind of comes off as if he is above everyone else on the team. You dont see Peyton Manning out there wearing his Mastercard jersey.

I assume lance will wear the asatna kit for all sanctioned races.
He is going to wear the Astana kit in races.
Perhaps one difference is that Armstrong is motivated by his global cancer initiative. One must remember Big Tex isn’t getting paid by Astana. He’s racing for free (no salary). To me, this allows him the option of training in whatever kit he chooses. Just my $.2
He should put the Astana Kit on because Astana is so much bigger than Him or Livestrong. Kazakhstan for the win.

I think the difference with cycling is that when training pro cyclists are out on public roads. Professional sports team practices for the most part are closed and private affairs. Although from time to time these practices are open to various members of the media and the public.
Historically it has been the protocol that Pro cyclists have to wear the team kit, at all times while on the bike. Lance says that he will wear Livestrong kit while training and will of course wear the Astana kit when racing. Again historically their seems to be some looseness with this as riders have worn slightly different helmets, or used different coloured bikes - I am guessing that Lance will do that when racing. He seems to have made it clear that, a main objective of his is to get the Livestrong message acrooss to as many people as possible.
My understanding is that UCI will fine a rider for wearing non-team or recognized racing kit( national champion jersys etc . .). Mario Cippolini was famous for wearing non-team kit for big races and happily paying the fine!
Forgot he isn’t getting paid. I guess that gives him some wiggle room.

yes, UCI will fine a rider for not wearing the appropriate team kit.
Pretty sure he’s going to ride in the Astana kit, however he’s going to be in liveSTRONG yellow for much of the TdF anyway 
Anyone else notice the yellow band on the left sleeve of the Astana kits? Anyone know if that was there before LA joined or is it a subtle touch of liveSTRONG?

If I remember correctly, 'Cipo was fined each time he wore these skinsuits. But, being 'Cipo, he was not going to succumb to rules when there were style points to be had!
