Lately I have seen a couple pictures of pros (Sam Laidlow and Magnus Ditlev) that seem to have their arm rests clamped to the extensions instead of the base bar. That allows them to get more reach by moving the elbows forward. Are these solutions commercially available, or are they custom-made? Thanks.
It was the Profile Design J2 bracket. Still is a great tool when needed, as despite improvements, sometimes you still need more length than stock components deliver. The brackets are very susceptible to slipping for obvious reasons, and you also need to be aware of what you clamp them to. I do not recommned clamping them directly to a carbon extension that is not approved for this use… and I know of none that are. I use them only with aluminum extensions.

Be careful trying this. I used to have this set up on my bike way back in 2015 so that I could create a pseudo ‘superman’ position. It worked but I bent two sets of extensions over time. Do not use thin walled extensions (i.e. USE) and be advised that you may create stress risers that will need to be frequently checked.
Thanks all for the suggestion/disclaimers It does look at bit flimsy to me and I have put it aside for now. I kept it as a possibility though. I think it will be the easiest/cheapest way I have for increasing reach to the pads
