He has done a couple of reviews in the past and seemed to like them.
Geometry aside (as it is totally personal) I’d say Argon’s are great bikes. They still use paint, (and great shades and textures at that) they apply more than enough clearcoat, (if your gonna paint, protect it and make it look special) and last but certainly the first reason to get one: The way they work carbon in aluminum is sexual enough to require a photo ID at the door. Completly and wonderfully beautiful.
Of the few impressive rigs I saw at the Chicago Bike Show two were Argon’s. The Mercurery Aero is simply the sexiest double tri-angle bike in the business right now. If I had the money, I’d be on one of those in a second. (P.S. Those prices seem more than fair.)
Search here for “Argon 18”. There is a user here, about 3 weeks ago, who bought one, and, not only did he buy one, but he set up components frugally, on it. I think he put on 105. And kept it right around 1800 bucks, or so.
I have a Xenon and I love it, the quality and ride are very good. I also bought a frame and built it myself, mostly from frugal shopping on Ebay and otehr places, for less than $2000 I have a Xenon with Dura Ace deraillieurs and shifters, Diacompe brakes, Profile Carbon X, Corima seatpost, FSA Carbon Cranks, and an Azoto saddle.
