Are you using, or considering, StarLink?

Well, this is one hell of sobering read … welcome to the world of ozone-destroying disposable satellites:

A couple years ago a group of us snowbirds (in a campground) went in and bought Starlink together. 300Mb is plenty for us (3 parties). There was no other viable internet service.
It works great - and we can turn service on and off as we head north for summer.
From our perch in AZ we could see Starlink rockets and satellites being deployed in CA.

I spent a week in Parker AZ in March. Fantastic weather and beautiful river. Even though I am 61 I felt very young surrounded by the snowbirds.

We have it for our home internet. We’re rural with no other good options. It’s worked perfectly for us.

I won’t ever give Elon Musk any of my money.

I feel that way but after looking at options we just bought a SL Mini for the boat. There really isn’t anything else with the same functionality and it has worked flawlessly. I probably would have skipped it, but my wife wants to be able to work from the boat.

The ozone concerns feel pretty alarmist to me relative to the damage we did to it in the 70s.
