Newish Vittora road tires, probably less than 500 miles on them, have small cracks in the rubber on the side walls. They are not overinflated according to guideline on the tire itself. Not sure what’sgoing wrong other than they must have been really old stock when i bought them.
I imagine it’s old stock, the rubber just dried out and cracked. Of course I would rear on the side of caution since it’s an obvious flaw, but I couldn’t say definitively
If they are the Rubino pro they would go directly into the garbage. I wouldn’t even curse someone by giving them those tires.
Zaffiro pro. These are the first Vittoras i’ve ever owned. I sense you have had a bad experience as well?

It’s impossible to tell without seeing them but I would bet that there is nothing wrong with them. It’s pretty common for the rubber to develop cracks on the sidewall where it is spread thin along the casing. The sidewall rubber doesn’t really serve much of a purpose.
If the casing is solid, they’re likely fine. Conti’s are notorious for these cracks appearing and shedding stringy casing remnants.

Vittoria tires can be some of the fastest tires available (I use them).
However, these are garbage OEM tires. Regardless of whether they’re damaged or not, you should find something better to ride with (e.g., Continental GP5000, Vittoria Corsa Speed G2.0).

They’re only about the 3rd or 4th worst tire I’ve been on.
Edit: As opposed to their Corsa Speed which is about the fastest tire I’ve been on.

I ride them, as they’re one of the two only foldable options for 650c size (schwalbe one being the other); so far they’ve been quite good
I might have some 650C’s for you
