Today, I bit. I went to the Apple store and got a new IMac and Apple tv device. I have an iPad, and iPhone, as well as iPod already. I was in the search of ultimate synergy and the new iCloud was what drove this decision.
I am sitting here with everything WI-fi networked. I’m using my iPad to type this, then switch screens to music which is stored on my computer. When I find what I want on the iPad, I click it and it gets sent to my tv and stereo system. The iPad becomes like a big remote as a link between the computer and tv/ stereo.
I think this is unbelievable. Everything is working as one. Seamless and beautiful.
I’m reluctant to try this as some ISP have limited the Download Data volume .
Even Non-wireless / DSL - cable services will be limiting you .
We live in a good single homes / housing area , with 7 wireless networks within a
few homes of me (100ft ). They keep jumping WiFi airport channels till all the Apple machines slow down
running on one channel.I gave up and plug into a Cat5 cable it runs faster .
Apple TV is pretty amazing for $99. Definitely one of the most underrated tech products out there. Just about everyone that comes to our house ends up buying one after my little demo. I haven’t updated with iOS5 yet on iPad or Apple TV but the iCloud photo sharing thing could make it even better for sure.
