Moving to a smaller place soon but I’ll have a good 4+ bikes to store. What’s the best method of storing bikes in an apartment? Looking for an overall combo of aesthetics, bike safety (most important), space saving, and economical. Was thinking wheel hooks, or frame wall mount.
Btw if anyone has pics to post of their apartment stored bikes so I can see what others are doing (and not just the pros on Pinterest) that would be helpful.

I’m reorganizing my apartment right now and in the same predicament. The Feedback Sports Velo Hinge looks like a good option for multiple bikes that allows you to fold them down against the wall. Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but not overly ugly.
I used these recently to hang 3 bikes vertically with 8.5 foot ceilings: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074FWTTSK/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The spacing was pretty tight so you will have to be pretty careful with measurements to fit 3. If you get these I would recommend getting a small angle bracket from home depot or similar to rest the front wheel on as they bikes will rotate when using just the pedal unless they are perfectly balanced.

I lived in a weigh station that was converted to a rental with another cyclist and we both had three bikes each: good road bike, track bike and a wet weather bike.
Live in a condo now with my good bike in my car trunk and my wet weather bike on the patio. I could really get rid of the wet weather bike as I only ride in the rain if it rains after I start riding lol.

PS storing extra wheels, tools and spare parts in a closet takes some organization too. I could do better.

In all we have more than 4 but most of them are rusted mountain bikes my fiancée doesn’t use and can be stored somewhere else.
Regular rotation is my TT bike, kids bikes, her road bike. My road bike generally stays on the trainer now of days.
Ceiling hooks…makes for fun decorations when you bring chicks home.

I put one bike on top, one on the bottom. Then a second on the ground, leaning against the one on the bottom. That gives you 3 bikes in a fairly compact space.
I put the other one in a different place in the apt, but you can also put a 3rd on the ground next to the other 2 if you want.
Or you can get more hangers and hang 4 bikes from the pole (2 on each side). But I found having them up against the wall to be much more compact and out of the way.

Same principle of vertical storage that allows the bikes to then be folded flat(ter) against the wall for good use of space, but the front wheel is supported from underneath instead of hanging from a hook. Bit more expensive but worth it IMO if you have nice carbon and/or deep wheels and have any concerns about hanging them.
I use the Topeak Dual-Touch, and have an extra set of frame hooks. With 8’ of ceiling height, I can fit three bikes if I take the wheels off, and alternate the orientation of the frames (e.g., seat on L, seat on R, seat on L). That’s with the rack close to the wall, so all the frames are on the side away from the wall. Wheels lean against the bottom frame/or in closet in wheel bags (rigged vertically so they take as much space as a long coat).
do you have a balcony? If so, I would recommend storing two out there underneath an all-weather cover.
I moved into a small apartment last year and made custom wall mounts for my bikes. I have 2 that I keep inside - a CX bike and my tri bike. I went to Home Depot and got boards ~1 inch thick, pieces for metal piping (~1 foot long each), and foaming to wrap around the metal pipes where the bike frame sits. I stained the wood for appearance and drilled the piping on the wood so that the bikes would be held straight even though the top tube is angled. 3 long screws into the studs hold it solid. I attached a picture for reference!
They look fantastic and are very secure. Depending on studs, I could have probably fit 4 on the wall (2 on top, 2 on bottom)

I have used the Feedback Velo Hinge and I can highly recommend them. Carbon wheels front and back on all bikes and no issues. Just take some time to locate them on the wall very carefully, not too high, you need to be able to easily hook and unhook them - also best to have one bike hanging by front wheel and the next by the rear wheel, this way you use a lot less space.

I have the Feedback sports Velo Hinge in the garage, which are very effective (4 Bikes in the space of 1 pretty much), but not very aesthetically good. In the house we have ‘nice bikes’ on Cycloc Super Hero like these https://cycloc.com/ps/bike-storage-systems/22-cycloc-super-hero.html , which are clean and effective.
These are great. I have high ceilings in my apartment so have been able to mount quite high and out of the way. Probably not realistic to hang all your bikes this way in an apartment but could use in combo w/ other ideas.
