The title says it all, just looking for feedback.
I have the ARO3 and love it. Super comfortable and doesn’t get too hot.
I can’t really speak to how aero it is, but i really like mine.
Cool, thanks. I have yet to see a single one on the road. I’m not too concerned about aero (gasp!), but live in a hot climate and climb a lot. Seems to have a different look to it (though not full on POC different). Seeing lots of sales on it right now.
I had the Giro Vanquish before and it never felt great. This was a night and day change for me.
I’ve tried a Giro Synthe and it felt great, but right now it’s twice the price of the ARO3!
I have one. Fits head. I did have a plastic rivet go on the halo. Ended up needing to either source one myself or warranty the helmet. Ended up with a new helmet from the vendor stock. The Oakley logos are pretty easy to remove if they are too much. I think the helmets are made by the POC or the same factory that makes POCs helmets, so if you like POCs, Oakleys are the same.
I have an ARO5,
I’ve been using it all season. Midwest/Illinois.
I read the reviews before buying it and was concerned it would be too hot. I don’t notice it being more hot that my previous Giro Air Attack, but do notice more sweat dripping down when I drop my head. Other than that one issue, I like the helmet. FWIW, I also had to go up in size (Medium to Large).
I’ve recently got the Aro3. Only done a couple of rides but so far it seems good. Its not the lightest (compared to my Kask Mojoito) however you don’t notice it on your head (well i don’t anyhow). The boa system is quite nice and it holds (well mine anyway) my Radar Ev’s fine. Ventilation wise, i’m based in Las Vegas where at the moment its high 30s (sorry don’t know what that is in F - i’m a Brit currently working over here) and its quite nice getting a breeze over your head. The Kask was ok but i think because the vents are bigger its allowing more air in. However thats my opinion others may differ
They are SO heavy!
I guess compared to a tailed racing helmet it didn’t look bad to me, sub 300g for small and medium I think.
The point is there are so many other better - both more aero and lighter - options out there, e.g. Specialized Evade at 235g (small) vs ARO3’s 295g. That’s 60g on your noggin’ and you will definitely feel it.
agree, although there is always something better out there. It all depends on what you want, i quite liked the look of the Oakley and for what i paid for it ($68) i can’t complain
Woa! $68? Where? That’s beyond a steal. I agree there are plenty lighter, they just all seem to be north of $200.
i got a price match with westernbikeworks and paypal had a $20 ‘reward’ if you signed to their credit thing which took it down to the price. think it was jensonusa where i got the initial price from, but they no longer seem to have it at that price.
No pun MIPS intended, but at that price it definitely seems like a no brained.
