I am wanting to upgrade to some carbon wheels but can’t afford to spend thousands of dollars on them right now and I was wondering if anyone has ever used this brand before. I will post a link to the wheels I have been looking at. I am open to suggestions I just want to know what people think of these.
I don’t use them, but you can probably find lots of good user feedback about wheels and the seller here:

.
I bought a pair of 50mm Yishuns in 2010 before the whole “China wheels” thing blew (not literally) up. I paid just under 600 after shipping and Western Union fees.
The rear wheel went out of true after the first few rides…but after a quick truing…they’ve been straight since. Freehub is super loud., but the bearings roll smooth. The brake track is basically an un clear coated part of the rim. The untreated brake track howled like mad when braking in general. Other than that…the durability of the wheel has actually been pretty good. I traded them to a friend of mine in 2011 and he has been using them since. They have got to have over 10k on them and I’m happy to say that they are still rolling.
Here they are on my old ride from a couple years back.

Thanks for the good info if anyone else has experience with these wheels feel free to post!
Yea I have a set of 50mm Yishun clinchers on my road bike. I bought them about 3 years ago in a group buy. Still holding up strong under my 230lb fat ass. They are still perfectly true. As stated by another poster, the freehub is a little loud, but not completely obnoxious. Once I’m riding, the sound is mostly drowned out by all the other noises around me anyway. On a humid day, the brakes do tend to squeal loudly… to the point where others around me have grimaced at the sound and given me that “Dude…WTF???” look. You may or may not experience the same depending on what pads you use.
FWIW, most of these V-section Chinese carbon wheels are from older technology when it comes to aerodynamics. I’ve never seen any test data suggesting how they perform over standard box-section rims. I got mine mostly for the “cool” factor with no expectations of improved performance in terms of weight or aero benefits. That’s why they’re on my road bike and not my tri bike. For my tri bike I invested in FLO wheels with proven aero benefits.
- If you search this forum you will find numerous posts on this topic.
- If you search road bike review for “chinese carbon wheels” you will find literally thousands of posts on this topic.
- You are better off getting a wheelbuilder cover for the rear and a FLO or used Hed, Zipp, etc for the front for about the same price (or better yet, a used FLO). This setup will be faster. Period.
- Most people report that they are pretty reliable, but there are some reports of them blowing up (as with any product). The difference is that if your chinese wheel blows up, there is no established company with lots of insurance to pay for your medical bills for the rest of your life.
