Looking for some feedback on this suit. I currently have a Kiwami Spider short sleeve one piece.
Does it run small?
Also, has anyone used the cycling elite aero skinsuit? I’ve seen some reviews here on this suit and wondering if people have been using the cycling version for tris?
Keen to know this info too.
I’m assuming they test as well as the regular skin suit The fact they don’t cost the earth means its top of my buy list.
Also, has anyone used the cycling elite aero skinsuit?
I have one in M. 6’ 170 lbs, and it fits me great.
Castelli BP3 in L is too short in the shoulder-crotch length, and too big around in the torso. It pulls away from my stomach, but it’s better than the M I tried.
Old LG Canadian team suit in S fits me pretty good. So does on old Voler suit in S.
Just looking again at the photos, the tri suit seems to be completely different structure to the pro suit … which would suggest it’s not as quick.
The pro suit may be ok for tri comfort wise, depends on the chamois I guess.
I’m 148 / 6â€1 and reckon a medium would be right

Thanks
I have used it in a race cycle elite suit (i got the version for 6 feet plus people with long arms and just cut the arms off at the elbow ( worked very well) legs are of good lenght .
I got the Medium size 186 78 kg ( bit overwight currently) with long upper body and it was the first suit i have ever worn I did not have to go to a tailor to have it fitted as it was tight enough and i would like a bit more lenght but not much for upper body but the suit for 180 plus riders is certainly not short in upper boody
I was between sizes and maybe for tri L would have been better but i guess after using it once more it will be fine m and i had very few wrinkles.
I have to say for the price its an amazing suit . Zipp better quality than for instance the ryzon suit . I cant yet give a long term review but I think it will do fine.
does it work for tri .bellow full Ironman distacne ? i would say no . My transiton time was not slower than others , at the same time there was 1 athlete that had a 30 sec faster transiton than i had ( i know had no sleeve tri suit) and with a suit that is half disconnected at the waist I would have been 20 seconds faster ( no way you will swim while the suit is on , with any bike suit that fits ) , i had two volunteers in transition to help me to get it on …( you want to be a faster swimmer to avail of that luxury …) it also took me longer to have the suit perfectly adjusted once on the bike. so I guess at the end what i have saved over a suit like kiwami was likely not much and it could have gone pair shaped had i not have had people to help me ( the next time it will be a bit easier as it is streched now a bit, as the suit was completely new )
so i would not really replace it with a good fitting tri suit but at the price its certainly something to think about if you need a new suit for an ironman distance race. and as a tt suit i think it has to be the best value suit that can be really fast
I would say if there were to make that suit a bit more tri specific ( ie the front of the waist disconnected and and a tri chamois that suit would be fab (and iam going to hassle them to do that lol ) but I will use the suit for next ironman again in a few weeks.
I have done no areo testing, but as i said for me of the suits i have worn bioracer (cycle spedsuit ) , peal izumi octane ,lg course ( a suit i like a lot apart form too short arms and legs ) it is the best fitting suit ( all the other 3 i had to go to a tailor to tighten them up )
so i guess its fair to say its a tight suit if you have strong arms and chest maybe not the best fit but if kiwami fits that suit should fit
, as i say i dont think I would use this suit over a good fitting tri suit i can put on quicker and run with it ( i runined my lg course in a fall thats why i changed ) but again at this price its a great deal.
besides they where responsive when i asked them aobut sizing and their advise was spot on going with the M ( i had not told them iam going to use it for a tri and as a tt suit the sizing is perfect ). after i had bought it I made a small complain about the shipping cost for 200km. i did not ask them for it but they refunded me some of it, and said they will change it . Which is nice
So all in all iam quite happy with it ( at the same time while its nice to change in running gear for the run ( and cycle suits do come of easity) the stress pulling a tt suit on after the swim is not for everybody and there is much less that can go wrong with suits that are only half connected around the waist and the zipp can be totally opened.
Has anyone got any updates on the Velotec Trisuit, sizing, comfort, pad etc after putting one through its paces racing and training? They seem great value.
I have an S size for the tri suit at 1m88, 75kg. The torso length is a bit short, but I would rather have it tight (pulling on the crotch) than a bit of wrinkles around the shoulders. It’s not my most confortable suit, but I would guess my fastest. I swim with the suit fully on already, as I would not be able to pull it up on my own. Velotec would recommend M on my size.
In my team it seems quite a few people sized down, depending on how one values comfort vs speed…
I had the chance to test it at a velodrome, it was within measurement error / ever so slightly faster than the ryzon and quite a bit faster than the fe226 for me. Of course those things are very individual and a proper fit is sometimes more important than the suit material itself. (Interestingly I also tested their calf guard and they were costing me 5 W as compared to my bare legs!)
