Anyone use Hdrop?

Anyone use Hdrop?

Thinking about purchasing and looking for feedback

Only order one if you are from USA. If you are from outside USA better email them and check with them if it will work in your country or not.

I ordered one last year and had it brought to Bahrain and could not get it to work. I emailed them and they said that they are having issues with Bahrain and India users to access the service. Tried with VPN, location spoofing nothing worked. Tried it again this year and only the thumb test passes but actual workout does not get processed. I should take it out of the box and try again.

I do, and have quite consistently used mine for the past 2 years. Overall, really like it from the data/curiosity POV.

Fluid Loss: Gives you a ballpark figure (I often weigh myself before/after and compare) of fluid loss for your workouts and recommends replacements.

Sodium Loss: It quite accurately matches my (tested with Precision Hydration, + multiple additional tests) sodium concentration/loss for a workout. Which is helpful to know.

I think having and using it over a period of a season is great, but beyond that it becomes quite repetitive and yet another device to charge and remember to use

One slight downside is that you need to start the tracking from your phone. (You DONT need your phone with you during the workout, but just to start and stop the capture). Otherwise it works perfect, has a long battery life and “just works”.

Example from a recent workout as an example.

Thank you for the detailed reply

Can you use it and show real time results on a Garmin head unit so you know proper fueling during a race?

Does dousing yourself with water as you do during a race skew the results?

Yes, you can connect it to your head unit to see losses during your event, while I do have the Data field enabled on both my Garmin watch and Head unit, I very rarely look at them during the exercise. I think the value of these devices is more during training sessions, where can see your sweat/sodium loss, get some rough temp/humidity data, then use those estimates to plan your racing or big efforts.

Re: Dousing with water … good question, I somehow dont think so, but dont have good examples or tests to validate. Here are some screenshots (from Intervals of the data points during an effort). The Hdrop data is down at the very bottom.

Here is an example of where I would have doused myself with water (70.3 run) but the results dont seem to be skewed.
