Anyone tried fishing while open water swimming?

So,
The post about coach fishing made me remember a topic.
After seeing the same 6 pound bass in same spot every few days during my lake swim, I got to thinking. Has anyone tried fishing while swimming?
I was thinking of using an old timing chip ankle strap, a length of weight forward, sinking tip fly line, then a wooly bugger fly.
My one concern is my crossover kick, which may lend to the line tangling. Other than that, I’m guessing my slight gallop style stroke would give the fly pretty good drop action.
I can’t be alone in having these thoughts.

Cheers,

Rick

There are guys here that swim out in the surf wet suits with water proof reels (vanstaals, zeebass) and chase striped bass and bluefish. Search skishing…

I did see a long distances swimmer who was doing some challenge and decided to drag a line and hook behind him. He did indeed catch a small fish. Just don’t catch something too big or you’ll be swimming backwards.
