Anyone run in Zoot compression tights?

Just wondering how they feel in terms of thickness, warmth and seams? Thanks

i tried on a pair. They have a ‘woolier’, thicker feel than the Skins brand or the 2XU. I thought they were a little too warm…I ended up buying the Skins.

I’ve been running in them all winter, including an ultra trail run. Like them a lot and am going to order another pair.

It got really cold here in December (15ish degrees) and I was fine using them as my top layer over a pair of running underwear. Not sure how they would feel if it was warmer, as that hasn’t been an issue here this winter!

My only complaint is that they are tight at the back of my knees and rub a little. I’m sure I bought the proper size–I think it’s just a by-product of the compression which in all other respects, I love.

Thanks…I did think the seams were a bit rough and would rub but haven’t tried them.

The ZOOT compression tights are meant for recovery use, not training/racing.

There is a model for racing/training, and a different version for recovery. I could be wrong but that is what I thought. For example, the model I got has a big long explanation of why the tights reduce lactate acid build up and perceived exertion etc. so obviously, they expected activity in them. I have never tried the recovery tight.

There are 2 models in Zoot, one for active use and one for recovery.

The recovery ones do seem a little too warm for training for me
.

I’ve been using the active version in the shorts and knickers format and used them for both running and roller skiing last summer. How did I get them so last year? I know the company that manufacturers and licences them to Zoot and have the original (pre-Zoot) versions. I won’t run in the shorts anymore, and use the knickers almost exclusively. Because of the high compression, it provides way more support to the knee when running and roller skiing. To the point where I now wear it as a base layer for my x-country skiing, snoeshoeing and nordic skating. I’ve found that I also fatigue less and get less lactic acid buildup under intensity. So does it work? It does for me. Are they hotter than other running shorts/tights? I used them in Mexico at 95 F with 65% humidity over the Xmas holidays and had no issues, not that I could notice anyway.

So yeah, sound investment. I’m just waiting for the tops to be available here in Montreal, and I’ll be getting a full new Zoot Sports set. Favorite new clothing product of 2008-09!

which ones are not to be used for training the one they are running in, in the ad…I believe they are right there is a specific recovery model the has funky feet things…

Actually they can be used for certain types of training with great success. Zoot has recovery tights that are made for recover and they work great! Their active tights (and everything else) are also great for training. They’re a bit warm so I wouldn’t use them in racing, but light training is wonderful, especially easy days for recvoery workouts.

Highly recommended. Unless you’re in my age group.

zoot compress rx tights are made primarily of polypropylene … as opposed to nylon/lycra … think aluminum foil v cast iron skillet when it comes to dissapating heat. try not confuse ‘thickness’ with compression.

been wearing the compression shorts for long runs after a few muscle strains (hamstring and groin) and like them, only chaffing has been on the back of my leg just above the knee during a mary but nothing too bad and overall very worth it
.

I was lucky enough to score some of the ZOOT compression. While KUOTA is a sponsor of OUCH, I got the full line of ZOOT compression at the OUCH camp last weekend. As I write this, I am wearing the full length pants. I aslo received a pair of the knickers, which I DID run in this am. It was only 2 miles. No chaffing, legs did not ride up. I also rode in the knickers this pm for 81 miles.

I was given the SKINS line up a while back. SKINS resemble the old running tights and tops from back in the day. ZOOTS compresion line ia great.

A good indicator of the compression is tight enough, is to weear it out to the bar til 2 am. If are counting down to “last call” looking forward to get back to the hotel to undress, you have the right stuff!

Hi,

Up in Seattle Wa, 45-55f. have the training version…Honestly speaking , they make the others for 2XU (sorry Chris :)) and Skinz seem like expensive Lycra tights.

They are amazing! , absolutely noticable graduated compression, 18-30hg, no seams where it hurts  . very complicated sewing that has different muscle bellies targeted.

Until Cepo and Oxy start doing Tights, these are it!
