Does anyone have any feedback on Fast Forward wheels? I am looking at the F6R in particular and could not find many reviews. Thanks!
I’m riding one of their disc wheels, If I was in the market for wheels they would be at the top of my list of manufacturers.
Not doubting their quality, but I can’t find anything on why their proprietary rim shape is better than a U shape.
I considered their wheels back in the fall when I got a new bike. I ended up going with Scribe wheels - 60mm deep ones, so can’t comment on FF wheels, but the Scribe ones are pretty sweet - relatively light, aero, and nice and wide.
Thank you for the feedback. What was your deciding factor(s) when you decided on Scribe?

There were a few things that made me go with the Scribe wheels. Pricing was great - $1000. I like the subtle graphics on the wheels, and the wide profile and internal width. The weight to depth was pretty good as well - under 1600 grams for 60mm deep wheels. Their freehub also has an almost instantaneous grab, which is kind of hard to describe, but feels great when getting up to speed. They also have a lifetime crash replacement. I know Scribe is not widely known in the US, but they have some favorable reviews, which also pushed me to get the wheels.
I have their Drift on my gravel and also their Raw that I use on my gravel when I’m on the road. Couldn’t be happier with them.
Have a 60 Boyd and Roval 321 on my Tri bike.
I am currently riding an F9R front and Disc rear in Tubular.
The F9R (I still have the rear as well) seems to work well, and I won’t bother replacing them until I bin the bike.
Never had a problem with them, I am up to ~5? thou race km on them (and train on other wheels), still true. 11 years of use for the front, and 4 for the disc rear.
While a newer wider internal wheelset might be nice, the speed difference to me isn’t worth the changeover cost, and a 25 on the back is fine (Sure, a 21 might be slightly better aero on the front, but a 23 works fine enough)
The depth can be a little challenging, but usually only when the gusts are over 50km/h, so saying I am a heavier rider. I do notice that my newer reynolds assault front wheel is better in cross winds, but it is also significantly shallower.
The DARC profile that mine has were better than the V profile that was common when they got released, but I doubt it is as good as anything being pumped out today, and I can’t say how similar mine will be compared to the current models.
Raced and trained on them for 10 years and absolutely love them. Awesome customer service too.
I got a set of those F6R FCCs about 7 months ago so far so good. I got them to replace the Kestrel OEM wheels for my 2019 Talon-X DA (I really liked those wheels but Kestrel was non-responsive when I asked about replacing my front wheel after a crash).
I made the mistake of not verifying the rim width and the Kestrel Talon-X frame is designed for a thinner wheel. So I had to cut the brake pads down and set the brake calipers at their maximum opening to fit the wheels. They still roll O.K. but for that frame I’m not sure it’s optimum.
I weigh 195 lbs and have had to bunny-hop a few curbs this past summer still rolling strong and true.
Bump to see if anyone else has tried them
Disc seems pretty heavy
How do these numbers look for their clincher disc?
Weight: 1430 grams +/- 5%
Rim Width Outside: 27mm
Rim Width Inside: 19mm
Honestly that’s pretty bad. Way too expensive for a wheel that heavy. I’d buy a hed jet if you want rim brake or the new hunt disc if you want disc brake. Aero will be effectively the same but you’ll save both some weight and some money.
Appreciate it
I will pass

While I don’t discount purchasing bias, I’m sure I’m as guilty as anyone, I think their wheels are phenomenal. I had the rim brake full carbon disc for my previous TT bike (cough, currently posted FS in classifieds, cough) and replaced with the exact same but disc brake version. With the DT Swiss 240 EXP hubs it’s not anything that’s holding me back. And because I liked the full carbon disc so much and the company itself, for the new TT bike I put the RYOT77s with DT Swiss 240 EXP wheels on there and love them too. I’ll echo the exceptional customer service. And they come with padded wheel bags. The double wheel bag version for the RYOT77 wheelset. Fantastic value add.
