I only run in my Saucony A4’s and rainy training days arent fun because of the holes in the sole. I would like to have a pair i use for rainy days and fill out the holes with something.
Have any of you succesfully plugged those holes, and what kind of filler did you use.
but as noted: you are running in the rain and if your doing more then 4 miles (why wouldn’t you?!) you might as well just forget it, if it’s worth training in it’s worth doing. Just suck it up , and know that your feet will get wet, duct tape will just make it take longer, and eventually you’ll be just as wet.
I still don’t get it. You’re running in the rain. Are you doing something so that rain water can’t get into the shoe from the top? If not, then your feet are going to get wet whether you step in puddles or not.

A lot of the winter months here in scandinavia the roads are just plain wet, and holes just suck up the water. and yes even while running in the rain your feet get twice as wet with holes vs. no holes in the soles.

Yeah the holes in those shoes turn them into sponges every puddle you hit sucks in water.
Last time someone asked it was suggested to fill them up with shoe goo.
Aren’t you supposed to replace your running shoes long before you’ve worn a hole in the sole?
irony doesnt go thru so well in text, so ill go for an answer
Most tri racing shoes have holes in the soles so water (and what not) can drain thru… but on wet surfaces the holes also funtion as sponges ( not so desirerable)

I used to run in Saucony’s that I swear had more holes than soles. I know exactly what you’re talking about.
Before I switched to Kinvaras, I just used a couple coats of superglue on the underside of each hole. Not sure if it would have helped long term as I switched shoes anyway.

Just use silicone sealant from the hardware store. It will do the trick but is also soft enough that if you don’t like the results for some reason you can dig it out.

Shoe GOO. its cheap and easy. Just squirt it in the hole, put your finger inside over the hole and push it down. Drilled some holes in sole right where the ball of my foot was and got blisters, filled it with shoe goo and couldnt tell a difference any more. Last as long as the shoes did.
