I’ve searched and seen a few posts on it, and I need some shorts to swim in. All good experiences? Is there a ST discount code? thanks
Yes and probably will do again. Just trunks, goggles, Tyr tri. garb … Unless anyone else knows an online store that’s cheaper and ships in 3 days to the middle of nowhere.
Yep…a few times. In fact, just got an order from them in the mail today. They have always been quick and well priced.
I think there’s an ST’er who owns a shop, and offers a 10% discount with the code “openwater.” You can probably find it on a search.
That said though, I’ve really enjoyed my purchasing from Swim Outlet. Again, nothing special, just cheap, fast and hassle free. Highly recomend them.

I just rec’d 2 pairs of Tyr jammers yesterday from them. I wouldn’t hesitate using them again.
Yes, we ordered for the 1st time last month. They are located in Northern California so quick shipping to the West Coast. We got free shipping since we spent over $75. Great prices. Will order from them again.

Ditto
I’ve ordered twice from them and have had excellent service. I was interested in finding a suit that had two layers not just the front panel and customer service actually had someone check in the warehouse to make sure.Very few suits do. I switched from Keifer in the last year. I get free shipping over $75 and no sales tax now either.
Echo what everyone else says about Swim Outlet. Also had good luck with Kiefer as well. Good customer service.

I always orde from then them and never have any problems. The product comes very quickley.
I don’t know if this was a one time fluke but, I ordered several swimsuits from SO and, with one exception, had a very positive experience. I had ordered a Speedo Flipturn suit from them and when it arrived it was the female version, not the male. They paid to ship the suit back and said they’d send out the correct suit at the same time; the problem was, they were out of the color I wanted. So I settled for the different color. When the next suit arrived it was also the female version and, once again, they were out of my #2 choice in the male version. Needless to say it got very confusing and the company wouldn’t do a backorder so they ended up giving me credits and then charging my debit card several times. Everyone was very pleasant to work with but I did call once 5 minutes before closing time and the customer service girl was much more concerned about getting home than she was about resolving my problem. They were also kind enough to not charge me additional shipping even though it was their problem and I received free shipping in the first place.
That is my experience.
OMG…
Do you not have a swim shop near you? Or are you that cheap? I support the shops that support me. You guys who don’t are all ASSHOLES
Yes - I really like that online store. Have gotten quite a few good deals - very happy with their service.
I have ordered from them a number of times with excellent results. They have the best prices (with shipping considered) on their grab bag suits and Swedish goggles.
to date, I haven’t thought of you as a complete jackass with all of your other stupid posts on here. congratulations, you’ve now changed my opinion. I’m not sure my ordering swimsuits really needs to invoke an “OMG” from you, or calling me, or “my guys” (whoever they may be) assholes. If you must know, I don’t actually have knowledge of any “swim shops” near me - your term, not mine. And I live in a fairly large US city - one of the largest, based on population. I do not have a swimming background, and have always swum in tri-shorts. Given that I swim at a large, corporate-owned gym with no “in-house fitness shop” or the like, I have no ties to any particular store. As for my apparel choice, I thought I would make a change. But let’s analyze your question further. Your shop “supports” you. What exactly does that mean? And regardless, congratulations, you must be good - either at marketing yourself or based on race results. There is no local “swim shop” that “supports” me in any way, shape or form. If there was, I would do business with them. But, without more, I am more than happy to fully support capitalism at it greatest - offer a product and/or service and do it well, and I will use your services
Related, I suppose I could, maybe, pick up swim shorts at the city’s tri-shop. however, I DO NOT support them and, in fact, will go out of my way to not purchase from, or do business with, them - going so far as to pay extra from other retailers.
hopefully, this answers your questions about my cheapness and assholeness. As an aside, I just used swimoutlet’s on-line chat to asnwer some questions for me, and them were great. They supported my needs, and I will now support them by purchasing from them.
I’ve ordered from them several times and had good experiences. I’ve also ordered from Lane4 and Keifer and also had good experiences. I think if you look at the sale suits - - especially the polyester stuff that will last FOREVER if you rinse thoroughly in icey cold non-chlorinated water after each swim, then you are really getting a bargain.
Now, if you are ready for some fun and don’t mind a really tight cut on your swimsuit, check out splish.com - - hand made suits. You pick the fabric swatch. I think the owner is a former All American college swimmer turned triathlete. I order my fun suits from her and they seem to last longer than other lycra suits, but I try to wear them only in non-chlorinated water (e.g. pools with bromine or open water).
Limar,
You are a peice of work my friend.
First off, your local stores do support you, dummy… Who do you think are the sponsors at your little races? Who do you go to get your bike tuned up? Who do you think keeps your entry fees down?
The online shops give two shits about you or local races.
Piss on your local shops and you will be experiencing higher costs. So go save your $2 online and in your next race flip off some of the volunteers while you’re at it and spit on the bike support crew there. ASSHOLE. You cannot tell me that you live in a large populated city with no swim shop, or store you can get a race swimsuit from. It sounds like you live in Tallahassee, FL.
So don’t come off like you are some kind of genius because you shop online, my local shop supports me with products and large discounts on products. However, I did frequent their store much prior to my sponsorship and gave them lots of money. It’s a give and take relationship. YOU JUST TAKE AND TAKE. Start giving back a little to the community that supports you dickhead.
Hey! I live in Tallahassee, FL. Oh great wise Mequonman, please tell me where my local ‘swim shop’ is because I need some jammers and I was just about to order some (on sale even) from the ‘unsupportive’ Swim Outlet…

Oh go ahead and make fun of me… you know your wrong.
Spit on a volunteer while your at it. Who do you think these volunteers are? They are not for the online stores… they are the hard working people who care about you in the community. Some work at McDonalds, some own business, some work at bike shops, some work at the gyms. Your local sponsors of these races are the local swim shops, bike shops, running stores, nutrition stores and they help get most of the volunteer base at your races.
Ya Jerk.
Ok, becasue I have some work I’d rather do later tahn now, I’ll reply to you - not becasue you add any type of value here. First, you presume that I am shopping at S.O. becasue they are cheap. I never said that, and have not done comparison shopping. byut I did ask if there was a discount code. Is that why I am an ass? Do you pay sticker for a car when you know that you could pay less just by asking? But I have a vague recollection that a poster here was affiliated with them, so the store came to mind (as you will see, this is good cross-marketing by them, whether intentional or not)
My “local bike store” does not now, nor has ever offered me a discount. However, my favorite mechanic who works ther has. Nor do they sponsor any of the piss-ant races I do. As a result, I pay-back my mechanic quite a bit - in ways which differ from how I pay full retail at the store. And when and if he ventures out on his own, I will absolutely support him. Bike shop owner? Doesn’t know me from Adam, and I’ve spent a good deal of $$ there. The other shops that “support” my races? I support the local running store fully - the owner has become a good friend, and I’ve referred quite a number of people to him. He sponsors races. If these “sponsors” go away, and races are either more expensive or no-existent, then the market has spoken, until such time as someone creates an ecnomic model for the space that works.
Do the online shops care? Presumably, they support their “local” races in their community too. And by offering a good product/service, I will utilize them and help them prosper - enabling them to sponsor more races.
I have not ever told you I live in a city without a swim shop. I have no knowledge of a swim shop where I live (can you understand the difference?) where I could get a “jammer” to swim in. perhaps these shops do exist. So, should I go hunt around to find one? Why? Assuming it exists, it’s done nothing to support me or my races that I know of and therefore I feel no need to perpetuate a myth that the business model they operate on (hypothetically) is the best one available (again, I have no knowledge of whether it is or is’t, but it hasn’t reached me).
As I said, the one local “shop” that is a tri shop (and assuming they carry pure swim goods) I choose not to shop at. they have a robust online business. Should I be upset that they are not allowing cnosumers outside this area to support their own local business? on this line of thinking, you, I presume, never purchase via internet. This shop sponsors races but, given my knowledge and history of them (the owner specifically), I would prefer they go out of business. Other sponsors may or may not pick up any slack, but again, if not, the business model wil prove itself non-sustainable
Perhaps you need to lose the myopic viewpoint of your “community” and who supports what. The community can be seen as many different things. I presume many online retailers support races where they have brick and mortar shops. Profit increases allow them to continue to do so.
And FYI< I do NOT live anywhere in FL
