The one offered in the Performance catalog? It looks like the Wavelength suit I had back when I was racing in the 80’s – sleeveless, mid-calf leg length. And strangely, it’s the same price as I paid for that one.
Any opinions?

If Art doesn’t know everything there is to know about this wetsuit, I’ll eat my hat.
Seriously, for $90, I think it might be worth buying just to find out if it’s any good or not.
Being the neo expert here since I am apparently a neocon and a neochristian, I can tell you for certain that a neowetsuit is certainly the best thing to come along since, well, wetsuits.
Cheap at twice the price, and it will piss off all your friends if you live in a blue state.
Never heard of them before, but they must be onto a new idea that will prove revolutionary.
As a “Team Performance” member (it was bought for me as a gift), it’s only $120, so I’ll probably jsut go for it and see.
it’s only $120
$90 at Chuck’s Bikes. http://www.chucksbikes.com/store/indexcl017.htm
If you get it, let me know if it’s any good or not. For that much money, I might actually buy two.
yeah baby 5 mm front and 3 mm back. Why don’t they make more sleeveless suits with 5 mm front for us rocks of the tri world. I am tempted to get one for $90…
Makes me wonder how much they would be direct (I didn’t see any prices at the NEOsport site).
UPDATE:
Got the wetuit today and tried it on. Workmanship looks good, though some finishing at the leg opening would help. The fit is decent, but has the same problem that I’ve had with any wetsuit – a gap at the lower back (hey, I’ve got a butt, okay!). No big deal. Might take it to the local lake and try it out tomorrow. If I do, I’ll update further. Not sure if I’m going to use it in the sprint on Sunday (my first tri in… 13 years?). Again, further update as it happens.
Brider…give us the update from your openwater swim. I am right on the borderline between small and medium in their sizing and am intersted in giving it a go…those wavelength suits…same ones used by Ken Glah and Jan Wanklyn on team Foxcatcher ?
I believe so, though my memory for who used what is kind of dim. Had the diagonal yellow stripe across the back and yellow side panels. The fit on that one was essentially the same as this one is on me.
Will do on the open water update. Stay tuned.
…any update from the openwater test ?
Well, not a test… Decided to go ahead and use it in the race this morning. A sprint, 500m swim. The suit went on pretty easily, and fit well (as before), even over a tri-jersey. The water temp today was in the high 60s, as most of the swims are in this area this time of year. No restriction of movement, no binding. Even without Bodyglide it didn’t chafe, and came off easily in transition. The only thing I found was that the internal flap that covers the zipper head had a tendency to fold the wrong direction when putting the suit on, but that was easily rememdied by just pushing it over once zipped, and it then stayed in place.
And it’s been so long since I’ve done this that I forgot just HOW MUCH diffrence the suit makes in your body plane inthe water. I pretty much didn’t kick during the whole swim, and came out of the water with the leaders. But that’s another surprise… (I haven’t done any swim training until the last 2 weeks.)
In my limited experience with wetsuits, I’d give it a more than passing grade. Well worth the money in my book.
