Saw these and was wondering if anyone has any experience? Similar price point it seems as Newton, but different technology. Info on them isn’t too easy to find, but I did find some pretty good reviews… anyone?
Give them a try, pricy but high quality shoes.
I’ve been running in the Distance 4 for the last 2 months, incredibly light (192 gr in size 8), there is room for your toe and they fit a bit larger than my regular shoes, they accommodate my easy, my tempo and my interval runs, my feet seem to like them too. Recommended
The new Enroute is killer, as is the Speed 5. If you’re interested in ordering a pair, you can use the code eikenberry20 for 20% off shoes or apparel. They’re the one brand that is really designing their shoes in an evidence informed way.
Hey, thanks so much for the feedback! I was pretty impressed in my initial run as they seemed to move me to mid foot with no effort. Comfort was also great. I appreciate your comments…

Thanks very much! I just got the EnRoute and the first run was really eye opening. I was really amazed at how they moved me to a mid foot landing with no effort and were really comfortable. Running was fun for a change… Thanks for the code. I’m very interested in trying the Speed or Race models…

For some reason I’ve always liked more snug shoes, then my attention is on the Speed 5, my concern though is that I don’t want to go with a pair of shoes I can use only for speed work or short races, I’d like to use the speed for HM races HIM and even IM without killing my feet.
A little unusual is the weight of Speed 5 (249g size 9US men) vs Distance 5 vs (229g size 9US men).
PS. just tried to use the code, but is not working on salming USA
I’ll follow up with them, it works in the Canada shop for sure.
Can someone give the breakdown of their shoes? I’m saying which shoe is meant for what purpose? If you wanted to go fast do you use the speed or the race? I’m always confused why companies have so many shoes that somewhat do the same thing so if I could get clarification on their lineup that would be awesome.
Picked up a pair of Xplores for $55 including shipping (found a discount code on Instagram of all places). First run went well (about 4 flat miles). Very firm shoe, similar to the Altra’s I have. It’s got me thinking I should really see what the fuss is all about concerning high end expensive running shoes. I went for a run in my Patagonia Everlongs and they were springy! I haven’t run in those in a long time…
Anyway, going for a longer run with the salming’s now (New Orleans so another flat one), will report back.
I agree as far as a comparison spot on their website. I’m going to send that suggestion as it is truly difficult to see the difference. I have the EnRoute and have a second pair on the way as I love them, but am debating on the next pair. Leaning towards the Speed5. I’ll see what I can find out.

Looking forward to anything you might hear!
I think about 90+% of the faster swedish triathletes use them. Sponsorship or not, people seem to like the lightweight, low drop, fast-feeling shoes.
Here’s the info I just got from them…
"enRoute: new model for 2017, dual density midsole provides a great step in feel but an overall responsive ride. Very lightweight everyday type of trainer. The three layer upper, heel counter, exoskeleton and torsion unit provide for some really good stability, without restricting your foots natural movement. Also features our new Recoil EVA, for greater energy return.
Speed 5: Has a very similar feel to the enRoute. Same new midsole and Recoil EVA. Main difference is in the upper. Two layer vs. three and a scaled down torsion unit. This reduces the weight quite a bit and provides a great race day option for anyone who loves to train in the enRoute.
Race 5: firm and very responsive ride due in large part to the carbonized plate in the outer sole. We’ve upped the overall stack height, so there is more shoe there than previous versions. Upper is completely reflective which adds a super unique look. Good race shoe for anyone at the 5-10k distance. Better suited for more efficient strides at the half and marathon lengths.
Slight modifications:
Distance D5: our bread and butter shoe, the model that put Salming on the map. The D5 is extremely light weight but still offers plenty of cushioning and support. A very versatile shoe, race day worthy for sure. Extremely responsive and flexible. Similar to the D4, which exception to the color up and cosmetic modification to the exoskeleton.
Miles: Our most robust shoe. Two layer upper and plenty of cushioning. The outer sole is covered with an extremely durable carbonized rubber. I’ve seen multiple pairs with over a 1000 miles and hardly a wear pattern noticeable. A heavy shoe, by our standards, so would be best to train in.
"
Hope this helps. I have 2 pair of the enRoute and am loving them, plus the quality of materials is stellar!

Awesome information. Seems like either enroute or miles for training and go either speed or distance for racing and the leave the race for super short tri or run races. I’ll have to get a test pair soon.

I’m 6 days out from IMSA and I’m taking the Samsung Enroute and Hoka Clifton 3 with me. I haven’t decided yet which one I’m going to use.
Glad you appreciated it. I’ll tell you, I have 2 pair of the enRoute and really love them. I’m still trying to decide on a racing model or two…

The Cliftons didn’t work for me, as I liked the feel of the road and it was too much masking of that for me. The enRoute is working well for me for now, and I really love the feel. I’d like to hear your comparison.

The shoes are night and day except for that fact that both work for me! I really liked the original Clifton, disliked the Clifton 2, and then Hoka got it right again with the Clifton 3. I tried the Clayton but they gave me blisters on any run over about 6 miles…wish they had the Clayton on the Clifton last. Clifton 3 is light with a soft ride and I don’t feel like I’m pounding the road towards the end of the long ride. I did all my long runs from 14 to 19 miles in them in this build. I found the enRoute late in this build and have done a 10, 12, and 13 mile run in them. They are light, have a firmer, but more natural foot strike and I feel like I am running with slightly better form in them. I do worry that they may be a little heavier than the Clifton’s if I’m sweating heavy in the run and soak the shoes. I have two more 3-mile runs this week before Sunday’s IM. I’ll do one run in each shoe and make my final call based on the weather and how I feel. Either way, I’m confident that both shoes will get the job done.

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I got the bad version of the Hokas, but I didn’t like the lack of feel for the surface with them. I do agree that I have felt that runs with my enRoute do feel like much better and easier to maintain form. I’m not sure I’m faster as I’m just logging easy miles, but the affect it seems to have on my gait is very welcome.
Good luck on race day!

Any updates for Salming US? Code isn’t recognized and I’d like to try the Enroute as a change up from the Clifton.
