looking at moving to the area and would like to know if there are any pools near by. i’d prefer something like a school district natatorium where you pay a couple of bucks each time rather than a gym, i.e. l.a. fitness types. i know there is some great mtn biking in that area but any good road routes?

PM “desert dude”. He’s the king of Laveen around here… there’s also this other guy that lives there, but he finishes races behind desert dude, he’s nobody…
The guy used the right word to describe what he meant and he gets crap from you? What if the Nascar nation calls it a pool, that makes it right…?
Hey hey hey, easy there. He got no crap from me, I’m pretty impressed actually. I simply stated that most of the country doesn’t have a clue what natatorium means. That’s an insult to the American educational system, not the original poster.
The friendly folks at the desert dude Laveen Performance Center will be able to help you out.

no worries i wasn’t offended in any way shape or form. i agree that when people ask what health club i swim at and my response is the natatorium more often than not it’s the deer in the headlights look. i figured most here would know the difference, and i’m sure they do, i just wanted to get my point across that i hate most gym pools. i went to an l.a. fitness in n. phoenix w/ a buddy and had to talk to a sales rep to get in. listened to the spiel, asked questions like i was interested, when i asked the pool temp he said proudly, “we keep it at a steady 84.” i hate swimming in soup.
thanks for the info tho, i’ll pm desert dude and check out the folks at the performance ctr.
I think you got me confused with somebody, since I have no idea what you mean … but I only read your initial post so maybe i should go check out the whole thread.
My post referred to Desert Dude referring to his place in Laveen as such… he’d be a good guy to ask. So unless he lets you swim in his own pool, you’re outta luck
Edit: got it - natatorium vs. pool. LOL!
