Recovery time? Most importantly, does it work? Thanks
Balloon is just another tool to open an obstructed sinus. Recovery time depends on what else is being done concurrently with the sinuplasty (ie. septoplasty, turbinates), and how extensive your sinus disease is. For example, if you had only one obstructed sinus, lets say your right maxillary for discussion sake, then you could potentially have the procedure done in the office with little to no ‘recovery time’. If you post up some pics of your CT scan I can give you an opinion.
thanks for the info rmg. ct scan next Thursday. finally going to do something about my sinus issues.
Be careful with the balloon approach - it is of limited benefit for more drastic sinus issues like bony protrusions, deviated septum, or other structural issues. It basically pushes swollen tissue back on an otherwise healthy sinus.
Recovery is easy to your question, and much easier than a typical endoscopic procedure.

I am not a dr, just a long time sinus sufferer who has done much research…

I just had it done in October and the doc said at least two weeks off and then nothing hard. I was back to it in 5 days (hard). Only had two bloody noses!
Its not the surgery it is the antibiotics that kicked my butt. Be careful though if you bust the stitches you could be in for some big issues.
CT will help determine if you’re a candidate. Report back with results and I’ll help in interpret in way you can make an informed decision.
