Anyone had an Acme Bicycle Fitting Brooklyn, NY?

Can any give me a first hand account to their experience with them? Thanks!

I did a fitting with Jon about a 16months ago with the intent of deciding on what tri bikes would be a good fit for me. Very satisfied with the communication pre appointment and even more so after where he has gone above and beyond in answering questions related to fit.

The studio is really set up well and there is only your appointment going on. He was scheduling only limited appointments per day(can’t recall but it might only be one only) so it never felt that it was rushed so that he could see another person. He used the Guru bike for the fit which was excellent for comparing position changes quickly and easily without having to stop pedaling or get off the bike. I had a road bike fit with someone else and it was always a slow process to go between positions and more difficult to compare if it felt better or worse.

I supplied him with my current bike position, preferred pedals/saddle/aerobar pre appointment, so when I arrived the bike was already setup. First he asked questions about any current problems, injuries and expectations. Followed this up with some assessment of flexibility and range of motion testing. Looked at cleats and shoes first. Applied the positioning markers for Retul measurement, warmed up for a bit, rode at race intensity while he looked at my position. Then he started with recommendations for changing position explaining the reasons why he thought the current position was not ideal.

Output was the Retul measurements which he went through explaining each item and then a couple of days later, I got a spreadsheet that converted the Retul to frame/stack measurements using the aerobar/saddle/pedals we talked about plus a couple of others and a list of about 5 bikes that would be the best match to the new fit. He also included some cautions about some downsides to some of the choices in terms of flexibility and servicing. He responded a couple of times to my questions afterwards to clarify some points that I was not clear on.

I have no hesitation recommending Jon for a bike fit. Feel free to send me a pm if you want to discuss this in more detail than I have provided here.

Thanks, its what I was looking for. Someone I met just recommended them when i brought up I wanted to get fitted for my road bike. I live in upstate NY and went to Fit Werx in VT and LOVED them for my tri fitting. Brooklyn is 30 minutes or so closer and I was checking out my options. Just wondering if anyone had experience. Thank you for such detail.

I had the same experience with Jon. Highly recommended. Happy to provide more detail.

I also highly recommend Jon’s services. He is a great guy

I had a fitting with Jon very early last spring. I have to say, was nothing but impressed with the setup and the results. We dialed everything in on the fit bike, he then transferred my exisiting bike measurements to the retul, and setup my bike with the new retul numbers. I rode the fit bike for a bit while he was setting up my bike, and then got on my bike with the new measurements. My first words as soon as I got on my newly fitted bike were “Oh my god, yes”. I’d always felt semi-comfortable on my old fit, but my new fit was absolutely money and time well spent. I’ve suggested Jon/ACME to a number of others, and everybody has been happy with the results.

Just another +1 to the opinions above. Very thorough and knowledgeable. Also a former champion of the NYC Pizza Run, so obviously knows something about mid-race fueling.

Best,
