Anyone ever do a cleanse with IsaGenix?

Just curious if anyone on ST has used IsaGenix and had either positive or negative or no results?

My friend actually did it and she said it was horrible. Cranky and hungry all the time. And it limited her ability to do her workouts as she had no energy to do them. That’s all I know.

Thanks. Other than changes in temperment and energy, did your friend get any results from it? I’m looking into it on the advice of my coach. Training would be adjusted to the cleanse program and plus I don’t have any high volume or high intensity workouts right now anyhow (A races not until later in summer). Still appreciate the feedback.

She lost a few pounds (four) but she always felt hungry. That’s all I know. She’ll be in tomorrow for work and I’ll ask her then if you would like. She said she would never recommend it, but I’ll find out for you.

I can’t speak to that one but i used the 7 day cleanse from Body Health. There is some good information in the left menu bar of the page that talks about their prduct.

It worked “great” but make sure you have nothing too important that week  I did it during off season training.

Sounds like snake oil to me

thanks…i’d be curious to get her feedback aroudn the program. my coach is pushing it as he has seen some pretty amazing results from people he coaches. just not sure if it’s for me.

With my athletes, I have seen amazing results when they consistently change their nutrition habits.

Changing your body composition is like training: There are no shortcuts, there is no easy way.

If you read the website information, it is a pyramid scheme. Anyone remember Amway? Not to say the stuff may not clean you out, but there are probably much healthier and less expensive ways to get your nutrition on track. And Paulo is right (when is Paulo not right) there are no silver bullets, just discipline.

agreed. so what you are saying is it might not be bad to try something new every now and then just to shake things up a bit - as long as its a smart change. am i right?

I might be criptic sometimes, but re-reading my post I don’t see that there. I would suggest you re-read it too, I meant exactly what I wrote.

OK…i’m guessing then that with the first line you wrote, a typical internet geek would have put a smiley face at the end…i.e. sarcasm…

it’s the second line that counts…sarcasm and intention is hard to decipher in written form…

OK, so i went digging for this, and am resurecting instead of starting a new thread…

Has anyone tried this? I’m doing a 9-day cleanse paid for by friends, and I broke down tonight (day 2 which is a cleanse day, same as day 1, day 3-7 shakes with light meals, then 2 more cleanse days) and had home-made pizza that my wife made. I couldn’t stand it anymore, the wonderful aroma was KILLING ME!

A little background: I’m in my early 30’s (all right i’m 33), have gone back to University for an undergrad degree (engineering) and since i’ve gone back i’ve had a hard time working out. This is due to having 3 children (#4 on the way), and balancing the school work. So i’ve put on a little weight (ok, my freshman 5 was more like a freshman 50), and am FINALLY getting back to the gym in my jr. year. I’m seeing the weight fly off pretty quickly, and am feeling well. Then a friend offered this to me (and the shakes to my wife as a booster while she’s preggers), and they’re not that bad, but this cleanse thing is brutal!

Anyone out there using this stuff on a regular basis, and how do you really find it?

I think this is fantastic for everyone who is a fan of Jonathan Swift. I believe
it was Gullible’s Travels?

Gets the liliputians out of your lower intestine with 100% effectiveness.

That’s kind of what I figured it was, but hey, it’s FREE, no $$ down from us. I’m also asking opinions of people who have used it, not people who like to have smart ass remarks about things…

You are sooooo at the wrong forum.

Seriously though, there aren’t any competent medical professionals who think it’s
a good idea, much less necessary.

Utilizing the internet argument technique where everyone who disagrees with
you is automatically incompetent.

Haha… that’s SO TRUE!!!

Even better. I misspelled incompetent. (since corrected, but still…)

Ok, here is my experience:
I had a patient come in last fall who loved the product. He is a pro level cycling coach by profession, and uses many products for his athletes, including pre, during, post race nutrition.
I started doing my own online research and decided to do a 30 day cleanse (ie find out for myself!). I did this through Jan, and have now been done 2 weeks.
In summary, I went from 207 to 185 in that month. I did it feeling great, full of energy, and in fact logged more intense training during those 30 days than and prior Jan. To quantify the first 4 days are hard, the rest super easy- energy is great.
More background, I do a full IM, and one or 2 half IM’s a year, and a few runs. I am good with diet, but not great with 2 young kids and a full time practice. This is the perfect product for what I needed to reset my habits, and reset my weight. The best thing about it is it is cheap, and you get a box in the mail…and just follow it-I saw big changes after the first 4 days! As mentioned I am 2 weeks out and all the weight has stayed off.
I think diet and nutrition is a touchy personal issue, feel free to PM me if you need more info!

I thought only doctors had patients!
