The other Chamois Cream post got me thinking, I love Assos cream so much I’ve considered using it for non-ridding purposes. Is there any harm in doing so?
Use away! I use a different chamois creme (Born Cyclist Creme), but I use it on my feet. Helps keeps your toes happy when running.
I’m sure there are other usages as well that I’ve only pondered, but never explored…
I just did yesterday after my swim. I have some nasty heat rash on my inner thighs, and Assos cream was the only thing I had in my workout bag. Sat at my desk the rest of the afternoon all tingley : ). It did the trick!

Sometimes I’ll put a little on top of my ice cream sundae when I dont feel like using whip cream…it just takes too much time to blend when you want some that’s fresh. The Assos is always just there, waiting to be used and it gives your throat that great burn on the way down.
I <3 Assos cream sundaes!
I also LOVE the assos cream … if you can think of some good excuses to use it when not riding let me know …lol
When I run out of AstroGlide…
The secret ingredient in Assos chamois cream that is missing from Chamois Butt’r is witch hazel. This has an astrigent effect on the affected area.
You may also like Prickly Heat Powder, an English product I purchased in Indochina and on the Arab penninsula. It is excellent and produces a similar cooling sensation.
is it the one with a snake on the cover? (the cover’s predominately white?)

i know for a fact that paul thomas uses assos chamois cream. and remember, this is the guy who put new skin on his balls, roasting them, during a 180mi ride with kenny souza.
he would be the guy to try what you suggest, and i would bet a dollar he already has. maybe he’ll give a sort of race report.
