another rite of passage
.
LOL, I love Frazz. Checking out the t-shirts in each comic is a bit of an Easter Egg hunt.
Very nice indeed Dan, but I can assure you you had your rite of passage a long time ago.
Congrats
Herbert
Every time I talk to my dad on the phone he tells me about Frazzās various endurance-related antics. Good stuff. I wish I got it here.

Pretty cool, Dan! I know I was also proud when they named a Lost character after me
i did see it half an hour ago. big smile. sort of felt like dan/we had made it into the big time. or some such communal feeling. and that, after reading the very nice write-ups about dan, emilio and steve (hed) in the just received āinside triathlonā.

Just FYI - on June 5, FRAZZ also referred to the Flatiron Reservoir Triathlon. We are pretty sure he is referencing our 5430 Triathlons at the Boulder Reservoir, with the famous Boulder Flatirons that overlook the race. We are going to shoot him a note thanking him for the comics and the interest in triathlon.

Yep, I was just doing that.
Use your favorites list to create your very own customized comics section. Mine currently has Frazz, Doonesbury, Dilbert (Dogbert for President), and several political cartoonists.
congrats, Dan.
Yeah, Frazz is great; itās a daily read for me. The esoteric t-shirts are a hidden bonus, too.
Does anyone know if Jef Mallet ever comes on here?
āDoes anyone know if Jef Mallet ever comes on here?ā
occasionally. he and i have traded a number of emails in recent months. iāve been alerted that this slowtwitch cameo is upcoming, so iāve been paying special attention.
do we have any other cartoonists here in slowtwitch? syndicated or not? iād like to know, either by private email, or PM, or as a reply to this thread.
I think of Frazz as Calvin grown up. Love the comic and congrats to Dan on making the big time!
I canāt believe he is swimming across the Straits of Mackinac over labor day. Talk about needing a wet suit.
(the write up was in the link that someone posted with the comic)
In his September column of IT, he asked for donations for his attempted swim across Mackinac bridge. We just had a check come in from one donar for his swim for $500. He is swimming for Mentor Michigan whose mission is to help over 270 youth organizations across Michigan. The following donations will get you:
$100 - an illustration from his ā4th Legā work in IT
$150 - a daily of his syndicated comic strip, Frazz (a little more will get you a Sunday comic)
an extra $50 - will get you Jefās signature on either of these.
He labels these on a first come, first served basis. He can be reached at: jmallett@insideinc.com

There is a character on āLostā named smartasscoach?
Shouldnāt you be out swimming? You have an ITU race next Sunday
That is very cool. Great cause, and serious challenge, in my book. I have driven over the Bridge many, many, many timesā¦and those waters below have never looked inviting. Both Lakes Huron and Michigan (under the bridge) are icy cold, even this time of year, and never seem remotely calm. Good for him for doing that, seriously. That is really cool.
