Anybody know how to get Ironman Canada results for 1987?

I know that it goes back a ways, but I am an old man.

The Penticton Herald Newspaper used to print all the results before the internet came around…maybe ?

Have you checked with Sherman and Peabody? Sorry, I got nothing. Although, I still have a Chattanooga triathlon shirt from 1987.

Funny.

I still have an Ironman shirt from the 1987 event as well. Pretty cool, too.

Thanks.

I’ll give the newspaper a call and see if they can help out.

I’ve tried looking for 1987 and 1988 before without any luck. Emails to the current race went unanswered. I have a copy of 1986 results if you need that one, but nothing for 1987 or 1988. If you get them, would you please let me know. I’d love to see if they have splits. I didn’t save 1987 or 1988 as I dnf’d both those years, but I’m curious what my splits were still. Thanks.

Mike

I will let you know if I get the results.

One would think that these long standing events would have scanned the results and posted them on line for folks like us.

There are a number of marathons that I ran back in the 80’s and 90’s for which I would also love to see results. I have contacted the Grandma’s Marathon office in Duluth a number of times, for example, and pleaded with them to scan prior year results. They said they would at one point, but they have yet to do it.

Just had a second thought about this…if anyone would probably know where the results are, it would be…drum roll, for the voice of Ironman Canada…Steve King

Steve B has a locker in the store with a whole bunch of old IMC stuff from back in the day so if someone was to go in with a bottle of nice rum in their hand he might just let that person fossick through it.There is all kinds of interesting trivia in there.

Steve King could probrably tell you the results from memory…
