Any way a 56 P3 would fit?

Is it possible for a 5 ft 9 3/4 person to fit on a size 56 P3? Assume a 70mm stem and the seat pretty much all the way up. 33 inch inseam.

if one had to guess by height, at 5’9" 56 is what I would guess.

but depending on the position you prefer, aerobars you prefer, length of your arms, saddle height etc etc. no telling.

could be 54, could be 58, could be you need a p2 not a p3 =)

You’re 5’10" in my book. It would fit fine. I have a buddy your height that rides a 56.

It depends on how steep you ride, if you ride STEEP, meaning that the saddle is brought forward to almost over the BB, (this of course is relative to what saddle you ride) then yes it will fit. I’m the same height and could have gotten a 54 or 56. YMMV.

what if he has levi leipheimer arms and rides steep? is a 56 p3 going to have enough stack?

what if he rides steep but upright, is it going to have enough stack?

what if he rides steep but has a long torso or prefers a stretched out position, will the p3 have enough reach?

=)

fitting without at least pictures to go from is unpossible, imho

unpossible? I think your fingers where slightly off on your keyboard. =]

agreed, there are a lot of variables if it fits, as you were typing I was debating on deleting my post….

This could be the situation that the OP has found a frame or a bike and WANTS it to fit, so regardless of what is said here, it might not matter what we say.

As to your questions…

Do you have a picture of a person that rides steep but upright? Trying to wrap my head around that one…perhaps the guy that is on garmin cervelo that has his aero bars with like 12cm of stack

it doesn’t make sense but I’m sure someone out there is doing it =)

you might need the 3t 60mm riser kit

The poet, Ralph Wiggum.

I don’t think I ride extremely steep. Saddle is a Cobb SHC 170. It’s not far from being all the way forward though.

I"m a bit over 5’10" and ~33.5 inseam and Dan put my stack and reach at perfect for a 58cm P2C with my profile base bar and aerobars, but I ride pretty steep.
(I found a used P3 Al for a lot less$ ~ same Stack and Reach.)

You should post your current stack and reach, really your X and Y coordinates of your pads and what bars you are going to use.

I don’t know my coordinates. I do already have a 56 p3. From what I have read on ST, it seems that my frame is too big. But then again as per you and a few others, maybe not! I have the vision bars. No spacers.

I’m nearly the same height as you (maybe even a touch shorter) and I ride a 56cm P2. My only problem with the P2 is that the head tube is too high and I have to use an adjustable stem (90mm) to get low enough. A P3 has a lower head tube and would have been a better fit.

I got a great deal and was able to achieve the same fit as my older 55cm P2SL with the funky stem. A 56 P3 would have been much easier for me to fit with a normal stem.

Yes. 5’10" and I’ve ridden a 54 P2 and a 56 P4.

I’m surprised I’m 6’ and I ride a 56 S2 if i was going for a P3 i’d size down to a 54. sounds too big to me but best answer is go sit on one surely

I own a 56 P3 and am 5’11" 3/4. I have a long torso. I couldn’t imagine being 2 inches shorter and this bike fitting.

Thanks for the info and pic. I can’t seem to get low enough either. I feel too stretched out and too high in front. I know guys over 6 ft who are on 56’s. So I can’t see how this fits.

I would agree that a 54cm would be easier to fit for guys our size. But I imagine that you are in a similar situation that I was in and have some motivation to buy a 56. I can work, but you’ll need to carefully consider how you’ll make it work…

He’s got a fairly long inseam though relative to his height…33 inches is pretty long legged for someone under 6’ and thus he’s got at least a modestly short torso to match. So it could work for him…or it might not. Without pics and exact position info though impossible to tell if it was a good fit.

I am 5’10" with about the same inseam and I usually ride something in that range (56 cm tri/56-57 cm road bikes of various models/brands have all fit me to varying degrees of success over the years). I don’t have much experience with Cervelos though admittedly.
